Planetside Friday - 6/19 - Beach-House of Doom

Gotta give the crew on Monday and Surf the credit for coming up with this, we're going to do a tower of doom style of gameplay that's a twist different than what it has been traditionally. Usually in a tower of doom, everyone stays inside and just kills whomever comes in the door. We're going to do things a little bit differently, we are going to try to maintain the area around the tower itself.

We will do this by laying down a shit-ton of CE, upgrading the turrets, and bringing in a BFR. Its of high importance that we do not set up too close to a base, or we'll probably get chased off fairly easily. Picking the right tower is going to be important, additionally, we will need at least 2 AA Maxes on the roof at all times, someone watching the CC at all times, and someone being engineer bitch on the roof to keep the turrets alive.

The BFR will chase away vehicles, the AA chases any aircraft, and cloakers/infantry need to fan out to keep infantry from spamming the turrets/AA maxes with AV fire.


Should we not find any suitable battles, we will fall back on a vehicle column.

My contest for a group of 20 is STILL on, so make sure you come out at 7pm CST sharp
- If I am not there and we hit 20 a screenshot will be required as proof

Fun in this game increases exponentially with the more people that join up so I hope to see more of the people that stated they were interested in the initial thread to come out, the game is FREE, but you are restricted to 14 days after which you will have to start all over again. If you get "suspended" or banned since the trial accounts are loopholes just make another one. Conversely you can spend $20 to pick up the game at direct2drive, which comes with a free month, this allows you to keep your character instead of having to re-level someone every 2 weeks.

Remember, the trials sometimes will RANDOMLY suspended you, just a heads up.


If you have issues running the game, make sure launchpad.exe and planetside.exe are both bring run in Win95 Compatibility mode

Edit - In addition they just patched in the 6 year stuff.....they increased max BR from 25 to 40, which Im fairly sure is all cosmetic stuff and has no bearing on certs or implants...

It was epic when we did this but the big trick is not to attract attention too soon.  The CE cert is extremely helpful as well, the larger the CE net the easier it is to keep large waves from coming in close before we are ready.

Lol they JUST raised the level cap now, that the game is practically dead?  I mean I guess it doesn't mean much if it just gives you new accessories or whatever... but yay now we can all drive robuts.  Wish they'd do something to actually try to revive the popularity of the game, like cut the price and make public trial/free accounts that don't require some obscure backdoor to use...

Also if pops stay like they are, we may as well go back to Vanu, since they seem to be staying about even, and there's no way in hell we're ever playing TR.  I miss Lancers and good AA Maxes and hover tanks.  I dunno if the BFR they have is useful in anyway, but I'm sure we can manage something.

With BFR for all existing accounts (including trials), and free respec, Friday should be BFR zerg. Once we get over the BFR zerging, then we should switch to BFR stalking in Phants as Vanu. I miss the lancer.

Have like 7 free certs, get armored assault 1, armored assault 2, then BFR cert.

You need to get kill streaks in the BFR to unlock some of the specialized BFR certs (like flying target aka skeet shoot).
