Well I finished downloading and I guess it auto-installed, but when I go to play it asks me for a Disk 2...I'm not really sure what to do now since the site is apparently getting nailed hard cause I can't get on it again lol

Yeah, i read somewhere that until they get they reach the official greenlight day Microsoft gave them, they have to keep the disk check in.  I think by Sunday it should be gone though.

That MTX thing is a piece of crap.  It was constantly working slow and taking forever to just check on it when going from a webpage, like it was hogging up so many resources, it was more taxing than a videogame lol

Yea I can't download MW4, it keeps giving me errors like I'm not connected to the internet. MTX sucks.

It is a torrent. That's what MTX is basically from what I can tell.  Like a proprietary torrent.  Just that when it's done, it does the installing work itself.

They updated it for modern windows and better graphics. Speaking of which does anyone know the other fan update games? I heard Theif and System Shock were both being worked on.

screw MW4, if any of the games need an update/free download it should be Mechwarrior 3. Which IMO is the best of all of them.

Well still can't play the game, MTX won't open cause it keeps wanting to download an update, and I can't uninstall the game cause apparently it goes through the MTX program lol

Man, MTX is really bad.  Why are they making it so reliant on their own website anyway?  It should really only contact the main servers when it absolutely needs to.  They don't seem to have enough BW to handle this shit.

I installed MTX, tried to launch it, it sat there for 2 hours doing nothing before I lol'ed at people who release things without testing and deleted the entire folder.

Surf: AT1 is a still in development MW2 style remake.  Got the free floating reticle, independent torso twist, all the complicated simulation stuff.

Mercs is supposed to get free floating reticle in the next mech pak.  Havn't really kept up with the game for months so I dunno anymore.

Uh its letting me get past the CD check because I'm running the ISO on Daemon Tools instead of using whatever shitty downloader the free MW4 uses.  I'll see if I can dig up the ISOs for you.

Do you use Win7 Odin?



I'm assuming not because of your post, because under Win7, the game locks up w/ the ancient copy-protection and will not load.

I can confirm all this because I

A) Have legit CD copys of all the games

B) They will not launch under Win7 because of said ancient protection

C) Have a legit copy of the latest Daemon Tools Advanced, and game still does not load with .ISO from CD.
