Fiber transfers data with light. Coaxial cable transfers data using metal and electrical pulses. One is significantly faster than the other.

Basically, fiber is the next step in the data infrastructure progression. It's what's going to drive the industry forward, instead of stagnating with the monopoly that the cable company thinks it has.

Alarms? Wat.

The internet is a series of tubes. Google's tubes are just much wider than the tubes we have now so more data-water can flow through in a shorter amount of time and the data dump trucks can dump in as much data in there as the tubes can handle.

but what happens when the tubes get so big that the water all fits inside of just one part and then it doesnt flow anywhere  ???
