What happened was I finally beat that blue dragon that was giving me a hard time and a black phantom before the boss fight.  So with my 50,000 souls I thought I could go and fight the arch demon since I don't have to deal with the dragon to get my soul back.  I end up dying on the boss and on my way back to get my corpse the second time around I roll too soon to evade a pierce strike for a red eyes demon.  Needless to say he KO's me in one hit (which I still don't quite understand) and I lose my 50,000 souls  :'(

I think from now on everytime I have enough to go up a few levels I'm heading back to the chick no matter the hassle.

I did pretty good last night but unfortunately found out I should have spent my demons soul on a lava bow instead of the flame thrower spell. Although that spell is pretty awesome.

Ill have to keep that in mind.  I bought the Soul Ray and although it does a lot more damage than my soul arrow, it eats up a good amount of mana.  Now I know this is expected but when you fight enemies that block or have heavy defense (like the blue dragon) it seems better to spam many low mana eating soul arrows than soul rays.

Also, King Allant (spelling) is a bastard to fight.  Had to put him on hold until I get a bit more levels and equipment.  And LOL at my level 15 strength.

Pretty much every place I'm on is raping me right now, plus some jackass invaded my game we got into an epic fight and he made me burn through all my inventory then he freaking killed me cheap. So now I have no inventory and I'm getting my ass handed to me. Anyone have any tips for getting out of my rut?

I assume you used up all your non-demon souls (unknown heroes soul, legendary soldiers soul, etc)?  If so then my only advice for you is to keep playing through world 1 and just keep getting your corpse back everytime and just stockpile on the souls. Probably harder for you since you seem to be more magic than melee but thats what I did and my character is level 51 and I still have world 1-4 to complete, world 2 completed and im on 3-2 currently.

My advice is to also ditch your shield and rely on rolls and strong attacks (of course this depends more on your stamina and type of weapons).  Of course I don't mean to literally ditch your shield but when fighting melee characters don't stand toe to toe and block with said shield.  I mainly just use my shield on the crossbowmen and things I know I can parry for a crit hit.

I apoligize if these are things you have already done/know but just throwing out the best advice i can give.

What's your dexterity?  I've noticed this game is weird to where dexterity boosts your damage more than your str and yet str is more important when it comes to using bow weapons.  My dexterity is near 40 and I do 250+ with a strong pierce from my dragon longsword.

Also, the man eater boss in 3-2 is a pain.  Not because he's hard but it's too easy to fall off the stage

I haven't been able to beat him, but I don't have the dex to use the needle anyways. I'm going to try and rescue yuria so I can get my super mega awesome spell from her and pump my stats and gear. I just found the ring of avarice. I really wish you could sell stuff in this game.

Sage Frek seems to have some good spells once you advance along the way more.  But Soul Ray is pretty awesome.  I can only imagine how powerful it can be in the hands of a full mage.  Also, did you manage to grab the epee rapier?  I need 4 more points of Magic to use it effectively.  Just wanted to see what the benefits were.

Yeah and I found out that the Ward spell rocks socks.  With it on I could stand toe to toe with the man eaters when it came to their physical attacks. 

Unfortunately I tried this new tactic out on King Allant and he took two soul levels away from me.  So now I lost a point (or two) in dexterity and in my Magic attribute

So I finally played this and it was sort of awesome.  Atlus still had the world tendency set to black when I started 1-1, so I could go to the executioner's grounds.  The black phantom of the executioner chick is in the tower there, and I lured her out and jumped off a cliff and she followed me and I got like 11k souls and her axe.  But it was my first time playing the game, so I had to beat the level before I could spend them on level ups.  So about halfway through the level I fucked up a fight against a blue eyes knight and should have died but somehow I survived with ONE hp left, it looked like I had nothing on my health bar.  I lured a bunch of those guys out and ran past them where I could too, it was pretty sweet.  In the end I made it all the way to the boss without dying (all in soul form of course, because I had to die initially to kill the black phantom), and I had 10 fire bombs and 4 turpentines to deal with him, so it should all be good.

Except wait, the world tendency is black, so he's got like twice as many spear blobs as usual and the firebombs only take half life off them.  Not quite knowing how to fight the battle, I managed to use all my firebombs and all but one turpentine and then I DIED.  So now I'm stuck in 1-1 with 1 turpentine, a kite shield, a mace, and a mail breaker.  And I've got to run into a boss room full of at least 40 spear blobs, pick the souls off my corpse, and then actually kill the boss.  I really thought I was totally screwed, circling around the mass of enemies, they were EVERYWHERE and the best I could do was occasionally get right behind one and do 4 jabs for a kill with the mailbreaker from behind my shield guard (though usually I could only get 3 off safely).  I spent at least a whole hour circling around the room, picking off a stray blob wherever I could until eventually about half were gone, I put on my turpentine, took out a few more, and then FINALLY whittled down the rest, leaving the stupid blob defenseless on it's own.  I shoved him around a bit before smashing him to blobby bits.  And went back to the Nexus with 18k+ souls in tow after my first level in the game.  Bad ass.
