So for anyone who hasn't watched them yet I do highly recommend the Evangelion rebuilds. Shit is pretty damn good.

I've been watching Kids on the Slope and I've been pleasantly surprised how it doesn't fall into the tropes you think it would. I wish more anime were like that instead of relying on the same old tired formulas.

I knew plenty of intelligent people, but they would all be in that top 10%. The upside was that the cutoff scores to qualify for National Merit were almost the lowest in the country, which meant I got a great college scholarship due to the overwhelming stupidity of the state. |

Started watching Sword Art Online due to multiple recommendations. It's okay, but the episodic nature is kinda boring, and I am having a hard time ignoring all of the tropes meant to pander to the otaku fanbase. The whole premise of the series is the ultimate escapism, and the main character is a black-haired, non-descript "insert self". Still, people are raving about the end of the series being great, and I remember Angel Beats being rather shit for the first few episodes. Will report back when it's done.
