The tragedy of life is that nature is about being assholes to one another. Cells ate other cells to get bigger and stronger. Then life had to eat other life just to survive. Trees grew taller to shade each other out of precious light. We had to hunt animals down at one point. We had to keep others away from our kill, but soon the best of us had enough to share. But everything up to that point, in our blood, in our bones, tells us that being an asshole is the way to get ahead. We celebrate it still. We admire the powerful gangster, but in order for him to be the big man, he had to beat every other guy there, with fists, with cards, or with business. Never forget that NOT BEING AN ASSHOLE actually requires the most disciplined effort -- every day, every minute -- and you really can't be lazy about it because those impulses are older than civilization itself.

I leaned the magic of partition expansion via diskpart.exe and reconfirmed that Windows Disk Management is a piece of shit and makes me wonder why dynamic disks are even an option.

Protip: if you want to extend an OS partition, first boot with a Windows 7 or Server 2008 disc. Press shift - F10 for a command prompt and run diskpart.

I learned that there's a man named Boot who's sole job is to rub glitter on Kesha. I'm not sure if that's the greatest job on the planets, or the worst. Maybe Mike Rowe should do an episode about it.

Holy shit is the weather in Bruges beyond bi-polar.  It's gone from sunny to rainy at least three times and hailed once.  I've only been here 2 hours.

Today I learned that after 8 months of being stoned constantly, it takes me exactly 3 weeks to pass a UA.

Begin application flood... now

I did not choose the Siracha life, it chose me.

I did not choose the ghost pepper sauce of death, actually I did. I regret it every time and will never stop because I am an addict.

I'm getting started early because I work Sunday-Thursday.

Found this tale of phone support: Le Habitant

where I finally understand where the swearing in Québec comes from.
Here is the basic swearing in Québecois sorted in order of severity: Ostie < Ciboire < Calisse < Sacrament < Tabernacle
Swearing from mild to severe: Saying mean things about the wafer < Disrespecting the wafer holder < Scandalizing the wine chalice < Blaspheming against the communion ceremony < Damning the holy center of a church
The church dominated almost all aspects of life in Québec from its creation all the way to mid 1950's. Swearing was a way of being a bad boy and of rebelling against the oppressive church.
