The inside of my HAF 932... minus the red LEDs I installed after.

Just look at those fans.

And that amount of space.

I have the Windtunnel. It's fucking humongous and cools pretty well. The rubber front is kinda nice and the simple temperature display and fan controls are sweet. Despite this, I really recommend avoiding full-tower cases if you have to move it around much (moving it to/from university was absolute hell).

Edit: here's a good photograph to give you an idea of how massive this beast is.

I have a cooler-master centurion and love it. Just enough space for a "big" computer while leaving enough room for upgrades. The fans keep it hella cool too.

That was my initial choice.

But then I saw the Cooler Master HAF.

And I went ZOMG IT'S BADASS and got it instead.

It's a solid case.

Aside from looking ugly and having only one measly fan cooling the entire computer.

I would have been wrong if I said no... It's a decent case, but not good for what he'll be using it for. And if you know it'll be inadequate, why are you asking in the first place?

Keep in mind that you can always order extra fans if the case doesn't come with enough. However, that is risky and doesn't make sense financially in most situations.

I posted up a meaty list of cases which will be able to fit and cool his components properly already.

Plz don't forget the necessity of blasting the fuck out of your case when you have that many fans blowing that much air.

Dust will crop up EVERYWHAR, and fast.

Any recommendations on DVD drives and memory? Also Eightball, I read your thing in Loq's post and forwarded the memory part so he can look.

Corsair, Crucial, GeiL, OCZ or Kingston for RAM. You really won't go wrong with any of those brands, they've all proven themselves to the enthusiast and modding (read: the retarded OC scene who think thy're 1337 to get 2 more pts on 3dmark) communities many times over.

Also, get a blu-ray drive for the sucker, future proof it.

I bought this, and I'm very, very happy w/ it

As far as RAM goes, I assume your friend wants 6GB as his mobo is triple channel.

I recommend Corsair memory, as it seems to be the most reliable.

This set
is a bit pricier than the rest, but has the best reviews and big, solid heat sinks. Because even RAM has to stay cool and look cool when your case has a window.

As far as the DVD drives go, so long as your friend doesn't want blu ray, any one of the generic drives should be fine.
