You'd miss a lot of friends and social opportunities and it might not look as good on college applications.

i know people that take classes that arent part of the normal curriculum online but substituting online for real hs is a terrible idea just like those "university of phoenix" online college ads are terrible

This is bad from a psychological and general intelligence point. High school isn't just about learning the middle ground of most subjects..it's about learning and coping with social environments. Online highschool is the equivalent of home schooling..and my experience with home school kids is that most are not equipped with the social skills to deal with real world jobs/people.

It's more like secondary school (7th - 11th year).

Our CEGEPs (12th-13th) are closer to your colleges.

And elementary is our primary school (1st - 6th).

Online high school really?

grow the fuck up and get into real school. If you're having medical issues, go talk to a doctor. I'm paying for it as a taxpayer, you might as well use it.
fuck off.

Ok, but get used to the phrase "would you like fries with that?". You'll be saying it a lot in the future.

I dont plan on dropping out or working at a fast food join for my life.
Also there was no reason to tell me to grow the fuck up. if I was not mature i would not have contemplated this before i took action, and through many others opinions and my own I am choosing not to go to online highschool.
so yah.

Online Edujumacation? Sounded like a good idea to me at first too.. Then I realized something important (...at least I see it as important) High school really isn't about being taught (They'd try harder at teaching us if it was) it's about the social interaction, the school will force you to interact with people, that hate your very existence. High school gives that important lesson, that Jackasses will be everywhere, and you have to deal with them, no matter what. The mathematics and shit are just a side-effect. (Hence why spell-check is working goddamn wonders here)

Unless your going to the 4Chan High, your not gonna get that 'everyone hates you, get used to it' lesson. Because online you click the "block" button, and that's it. You can't do that in reality (....Well not legally) There's a reason high schools aren't one on one. (....Besides cost)

TLDR: School is about learning how to deal with jackasses non-violently. [Speech 30]

Which is why you go to high school. And this is coming from a guy who used to be a complete social wreck. You'll meet good people there, you'll meet some dicks there, but it's all for your own good.

High school didn't teach me shit about social interactions :v. I just went in, took my classes, kept to myself and left as soon as possible. No regrets either.

I viewed high school more as learning how to bullshit (all english, social sciences) and developing good study habits otherwise. Let me just say that if you plan to attend college, take lots of AP courses. They do a decent job preparing you most of the time and you'll get to save a good bit of time and money later. If you can take them online and do just as well, more power to you. High school was ok, but it wasn't a growing experience or any of that crap to me. And yes, college/university life is way better than high school life.

EDIT: Oh, but high school does give you the benefit of having access to extracurriculars which admissions offices love to see. Plus you'll get to at least talk to guidance counselors, which are a godsend as far as helping you plan out your after high school plans.
