Now that we've reverted back to my FastDL box, URL's containing my server's IP have been posted, and subsequently spread far and wide across the internets, attracting scan bots and large amounts of vulnerability scans.

To clear up my log files, I've taken some steps to block off a lot of IP addresses in the server's firewall, 99% of this won't concern anyone here.

They range from every IP address owned by every major server colocation company (ThePlanet, Rackspace, FDCServers, etc) in the US and a bunch of small ones too, in addition to every single IP address in both China and Russia.

The point to this post, though, is to point out that I blocked off a CIDR range from both Verizon and RoadRunner as well, as I've been getting hit a lot from dynamic IP's in their ranges. Probably some kids with outdated server software on a DMZ computer somewhere. Regardless, it annoys me to have to filter through all that crap in my logs when I'm looking for something specific, so their subnets are blocked.

tl;dr

IF YOU SUDDENLY CAN NOT ACCESS http://KIRBY420.COM OR MUMBLE, AND YOUR ISP IS VERIZON OR ROADRUNNER - PM ME YOUR IP ADDRESS AND I WILL WHITE-LIST YOU
