Hi guys

Recently my computer has been taking longer than usual to post and boot up.  Now this morning it won't even boot. It will turn on but It never beeps or boots. All the fans are running and it looks like it's on. I'm not sure what to do anyone have any ideas?

Unplug everything from motherboard minus the CPU, power cables and the wires for the front panel buttons.

Try power on, if nothing happens, dead motherboard. If it POSTS, start adding everything back, one piece of hardware at a time. Start with the RAM, then go onto things like video card, hard drives, and finally cd/dvd drives.

My old PC would take 10 minutes to POST if anything was plugged into IDE channel 0 - instant if there wasn't.

It could very well be the PSU as well, do you have another one you can test out?

No luck finding a psu, I popped out the battery and no luck with that either.  I did notice something weird though. My case has an LCD on the front that shows temps. The backlight on it was flickering, dunno if that's more indication that it's the psu

Very well could be, do you have access to a multimeter and the necessary skills to use it?

How many people actually fit that criteria?

Smile

Motherboard or PSU, always one of the two.
