Apparently im VAC banned and I dont know why

log in to see the steam summer sale and apparently im banned now. just yesterday I was playing fine

According to the Steam forums, it's possible there may be a bunch of false positives. Kind of like with MW2 a while ago. It's possible that isn't correct though.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and believe you didn't cheat, or use any strange programs. However, have you been idling in TF2 recently? I'd also suggest opening a Steam Support ticket.

I open steam today to check out he summer sale only to find that I am VAC banned. I am the only person with access to this account, recently changed my password,and have not received any alerts from steam guard. I have been playing Team Fortress 2 for over 1000 hours and have never used any programs that interact with it. In fact, yesterday I was playing Team Fortress 2 like any other day. I request a manual review of this ban. Apparently you will not discuss or release any specifics relating to the ban and I understand that but I request that someone review this ban because I am positive that I have done nothing to deserve this ban. I have not been hacked or hijacked and I do not use any 3rd party programs. Furthermore, recently I have only been playing two games: Team Fortress 2 and Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012.

The only things that come to mind are Mumble and the P-rec plugin that I had to use for the community highlander tournament a long time ago. Other than that my Team fortress is untouched. I can only deduce that this is some sort of false positive or a flaw with the VAC system. Please review your actions and make this right.

Looks like you're unbanned. Double-check Steam>Settings>VAC Status to be sure.

banned status is gone from profile, banned status gone the settings, tf2 items still gone.
