Priviet amigos!

Let's see.. Where to begin. I was invited here by my nephew, but it seems he's never been here himself. His loss. :-)

I came looking or a vanilla minecraft server, and haven't been disappointed. I am a long time member of a 3-5 player private survival server. We recently went with the industrialcraft mod which I compiled for the group, and I'm loving that. The server is just on a home PC, so it isn't 24/7 access. When I'm not there or I find that I'm there alone, I have been visiting BRB.
In general, I prefer mining and exploring with friends, as well as larger group build projects. When I'm alone, I prefer to power mine between y=0-16. I have recently begun exploring new building techniques utilizing double or triple thick walls so I can run red stone etc in the walls and have separate interior and exterior wall colors. It's hard to break away from the standard 1 thick wall pattern, but I'm giving it a try.
So far on BRB, I have built most of a small house. The pattern is loosely based after a historical apartment complex in Boston, mass. I enjoy surfing google images for building inspiration
I also was lucky enough to find a couple cows. I penned their offspring in by the public farm. Hopefully this isn't a problem. Since I'm so new, I don't know if the public farm was a creative effort by the public or a single players creation. Ilf someone feels that I have inade their space, please let me know and I'll fix it.

Anyway, my kid is getting grouchy so I will hop off this and blab more about myself later.

Only if it's animated, salty and hulkish.  :p

I fell off the technology wagon a couple years ago, so i dont have a lot of reference. I also am amazingly scroogish with my cash, so for now i am stuck with the contents of netflix instant play. Havent seen many shows. Just got done with Darker Than Black. I left off with bleach during the bount episodes. *yawn* somebody said it picks back up so maybe I will try it again. I'm part way through cowboy beebop, so that's kinda my current thing. And when they came out I watched all 151 original episodes of Pokemon.. in order.  :-X
My wife doesn't prefer anime. We watch the very occasional chick flick(two laptops, so I'm usually I'm MC while that happens.), but she really prefers action flicks and crime dramas. I am more than willing to cater to that demand, so most of our movie time is spent on that.

We also spend a lot of time outdoors with our kid, the chickens and fish, and shoot the occasional deer. My wife and I were both raised without a lot of media so wanting to keep the kid off the couch comes naturally.. My dad had a reel to reel projector back when the library actually carried film films. I would watch laurel and hardy and charlie chaplin the way it was supposed to be seen and listen to baseball games on the car radio. Needless to say, I have some catching up to do in the movie department.

Welcome to our corner of the internet. On behalf of everyone, I would like to thank you on having an articulate introduction. It is a thing of rare beauty.

Check out the General Discussion section of the forum. BRBU is a pretty varied community, and I'm sure that you can find things that pique your interest there.

Here's our movie thread, for example.

tight.

I've been messing around on here (probably too much) at work and see that this varied group fits me pretty well.

Thought I'd throw the list of games I have spent the most time on.. Not necessarily my favorites, but at least the most addicting over the years eh?

Commander Keen Scorched Earth and basically anythying else the BBS (the wha?!? 0.o):p would let me get my hands on, AOE early titles, Pax Imperia, SC2k, Starcraft, Caesar 3, Test Drive (I, II, III on the computer, through Off Road V-rally on the Dreamcast), Phantasy Star, Crusader No Regret/Remorse series, early Fallout titles, Soul Calibur I, and probably more my brain is too liquified to remember. Those were and are still the biggies.

Hmm. The screen shots I just looked at are VERY deja vu-ish, but I would have to get into it. I was like 8. I tried everything once.

We had a pretty good quote pyramid started a couple times too. I wasn't looking to set records, but I was hoping to at least fill the screen with one.

Scorched Earth?! Where?! Azure must have!

On a related note, welcome to the community. We didn't get properly acquainted last night. Hope to see you around the forums more. It's truly a unique place.

There goes my day..  :p

I forgot three of my favorite favorites. Zoo Tycoon, Rollercoaster Tycoon, and Transport Tycoon Deluxe Oh boy!! Somethin about seeing poor defenseless kids get of my rollercoasters, yack and then promptly leave the park. ;D

TTD has actually been re-released similar to the scorch2k. They did a very good job, and its free. If you never played Transport Tycoon, its another one to check out.

And thanks Azure. I'm sure we'll get to know each other well. I gotta finish my first house, and then I will probably come over to OZ since that seems to be where the cool kids hang out.
