Here are my photos from Day 1 of the tea party festival. Hopefully I will have more with at0m tomorrow.

Love those bird photos and the rich colors off the dresses, damn! I noticed in some of the boat photos that they water is a bit overblown so it's hard to see the details on the subject's face but they still turned out

Most of the photos came from the time of day you aren't supposed to be shooting at. Much highlight recovery was to be had. I usually had to dial up the EV to get good detail in faces that were under hats and fix the rest in post later.

Edit: Also yesterday I saw a guy with like $40k worth of equipment running along the sides of the parade. I was like what the fuck is that around your neck the new digital Leica? Wait what is that in your hand like a D4 or some shit? How the hell are you affording all this cuz it ain't taking photos.  I was also sad at the lack of love the Leica was getting, if I had one of those I'd be using it like crazy.

Edit 2: Thanks Rummy that means a lot. The pic of my wife was at the time of the day when she starts to get annoyed with me for taking so many damned pictures. "Come on let's go" "Hang on I just saw a pic I want" "grrrrr"

[/quote] college kid unemployed and has health issues so hospital bills. Not working living at home. Friend of my Fiance D4 and D5 with a metric fuckton of other equipment. I don't know how he affords it. He is not even enrolled this semester.

Sent from my subdermal neurological implant.

With your skill, the only thing she could have legit beef about is if you aren't taking enough pictures of her.

I saw a dude downtown the other day with the new digital Leica and he was wearing 900$ shoes. I hope it was a projection of me in the next couple of years.  :o

Day 2 is up in the same album starting with the lego men. Yes at0m and Rummy missed a millenium falcon raft that did the race in 5 parsecs. And by that I mean last, they did it in last.

I'm in a weird place where I might start trying to make money off my photography but I'm not 100% sure my gear is appropriate for it.  I very much have hobbyist gear that I selected to be good and inexpensive.  If I start a side business with photography I might need to upgrade to more appropriate gear, but that is really expensive.

Anyone have any thoughts on this topic? Can you get by on high quality hobbyist gear? I mean assuming you don't have stupid clients that want to hire on gear instead of skill.

What's sad is this is not just funny but also very true.
