Caffeine or someone else in outfit said I should post this info so here ya go.

Did some testing of weapons after launch using enemy alt's to determine damage and stopwatch for ROF and reload speed. All tests done on un-certed, un-nanoweaved infantry. This is all for the moment but I will add weapons as I test them. If you guys want a particular weapon tested vs infantry I can do that and post here when I have time. It's much more difficult for me to reliably test vs vehicles so I won't be doing that at the moment.

Take note that none of this data takes into account the certs or mods available for a weapon. Make sure to take a look at what mods/certs are available for a weapon before making any choices based on this data.

Data now in Spreadsheet form:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?...LalE#gid=0

Recoil and spread reference image:
All recoil/spread tests done at fastest fire rate IE full auto or fastests clicking with semi/burst.
Left pattern - Recoil from yellow/white line.
Center - Aiming down sights(ADS) spread while controlling recoil.
Right - Hipfire spread while controlling recoil.

Vanu Weapon Damage reference:

Vanu Shotgun Recoil, Spread and Damage reference:

Manticore and NS-11A Recoil and Spread reference:

Solstice SF Recoil and Spread reference:

Edited Nov 27- fixed some minor damage discrepencies that made it seem like a gun would take a fraction of a shot more to kill than it really does, And to add Manticore and NS-11A.
Edited Nov 27 - Added Solstice SF
Edited Nov 29 - Converted data to spreadsheet form and added new statistical calculations

That was me, and thanks for posting Smile

Did you actually do these tests? And have you looked at any of the unlocks yet?

Thanks, this helps a bunch!

I did all these tests myself after launch. Are you asking about weapon unlocks or cert unlocks?

I was bored at work, so i put all this fine weapon data into an easy to read-ish spread sheet.

https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B7HqZNY...XpfdDAycGs

Based SOLEY on dps, i highlighted the best gun in vanu purple.

(except for max guns, because if you're using non AI max guns on infantry you're boned anyways)

Yes. I have been far too lazy to do this myself. This makes it alot easier to read. Thank you Big Grin

Do you think you can give me access to the file? I can just add new stuff directly to the spreadsheet.

For anyone who uses or has interest in the Nyx. Just got the laser sight. Makes the hipfire cone about 30% smaller.

This image gives you a rough distance reference to hit the chest reliably with hipfire and laser point.

just wondering, you taking reload times into account when you calculate DPS?

This one is just an uploaded exel file, i can past the cells into a real editable google doc when i go into work tomorrow.

to see how reloading mags effects total damage, you need to calculate something like damage per minute to see how it effects it but it'll be a much more complicated formula than just base damage by rate of fire a second.  something like (dps * (60 - (time spent reloading)) though off hand i don't know how to calculate the time spent reloading aspect, but the dpm would be a better metric that includes ROF, base Damage, and reload speed.

Actually, don't worry about it. I'm going to make a spreadsheet myself with some more calculated statistics.
You would want to do t/mag + rel to get some value Z for time to empty a mag + reload time. Then you would take 60s and divide by Z to get how many times you can fire a full mag and reload in a minute. Then you multiply that number of mags by the damage of a single mag. In fact, I'll add that right now.

Yeah that's what i had written above, what youu need to do is actually  take out the reload time from the the minute ONLY.  If you have the time spent in a minute just reloading, you can get a damage per minute by taking dps and multiplying it by (60- reload in a minute).  That would be the metric that has all three important stats included in it within one approx number.

Looking backl i guess i deleted that equation because i couldn't figure out, or rather didn't want to take the time to figure out, how to solve just for the time spent reloading.  But yeah t/mag+reload divided into 60 right?  now from that number i just need to figure out how to get total reload time back out.

Okay, i'm just a drunk idiot.  Total time spent reload in a minute is just number of full magazines and reloading in a minute multiplied by reload time.  so the damage per minute is dps * (60 - reload in a minute).  don't bother calculating it, i can throw the equation into excel and be done in seconds for the entire spread sheet.

See original post for new Spreadsheet form with new statistics such as Damage per minute, damage per magazine, damage per ammo supply, shots to kill, and random others.

Or total damage per mag divided by tmag+rel. Or you could do a graph like someone did for the Scout weapons back in the day.

Also, the uploaded spreadsheet should be directly convertible to a google doc, ianki.

TTK and total DPS/M are the most interesting numeric stats to me, honestly, but accuracy is much harder to analyze that way.
