I'm honestly surprised there's not a thread here for it... I'll start it.
My Citizen Page
https://robertsspaceindustries.com/citiz...gooseFlies

What Ships I have:
  • RSI Constellation
    • Comparatively to star wars, it's basically like a Millennium Falcon, large cargo capacity, 360 degree rotational gun pod on bottom with the ability to add one on top, each gun pod can have a gunner, and comes with a P-52 Merlin (short range 1 man fighter), and has room for a four person crew, I believe including the pilot.
  • Drake Interplanetary Cutlass
    • Smaller than the constellation and has maximum crew capacity of 2
  • Origin Jumpworks 350R
    • Basically an upgraded 300i, 1 man
  • RSI Aurora ES
    • 1 man fighter, a pretty simple standard for most

I intend to get a Hornet F7C and probably a Freelancer.

The official web site
https://robertsspaceindustries.com/

Why you should buy it when it comes out or even pledge:
It is a PC exclusive title, a space sim built by what can be considered the godfather of space sims (Chris Roberts created Freelancer, Wing Commander, and more), it looks awesome. You can play it cooperatively if you want (meaning if you guys wish to join me on my ship, you can! Be my gunners and shit... fly my Merlin in short range combat).

Watch the crowd funding video here:
https://robertsspaceindustries.com/about-the-game

The development team is being VERY open about development, they are releasing what is known as the hangar module later today, this is NOT a playable game, it is nothing more than, well, what it says, the section of the game that handles the hangar, where you get to your ship, view it, upgrade it, buy things, remove things, walk around (and I think in) it, etc. They will, as time goes on, expand the modules until it reaches full game state. Seeing as this game has been nearly 100% crowdfunded, they want the development to be as transparent as possible, and do weekly updates (and have for some time now).

And before you ask me how much I've spent on helping to support this game... well... a lot... I don't know. But I know I'll be spending more. I REALLY want to see this happen.

Alright, so, they released the Hangar Module.

All the Hangar Module is is the ability to go into a hangar, go into your ship, and look around inside the hangar and inside your ship. You can't really do much else. But as part of their dev process every little bit is being released as they go. So technically I currently have the earliest version of the client (not that there is a playable game there yet), however, I took 50 screenshots of my hangar and my (currently only) ship (RSI Constellation Class), I will probably get another ship soon... I basically want to fill my hangar I want a ship for every occasion!

This looks interesting.  If we get some more people on board I might grab a 315p package.

Just remember, this is a primarily crowdfunded game not slated for release yet (expected 2014).

What you get, if you buy something now is the following:
The Hangar Module (non playable game, but you can go look at and get in your ship)
Your Ship
Other stuff that comes with your level of backing.
Anything that comes from reaching a funding goal after your investment (I have everything back to $15 mil)

So basically, remember, if you pay into this it is a funding for a game that is yet to be fully developed and is still in development.

However, as I stated above, as it is mostly crowdfunded, Roberts Space Industry and Origin (I think Origin Softworks) are treating those who have paid into the games development as investors essentially, showing builds and bits and pieces and renders and essentially all the progress a publisher would see while pushing a deadline.

Still I personally feel funding a project with this much ambition will be well worth it, $20 mil is their most recent max goal (it was 7 mil), but now reaching $20 mil will bring them to a funding point of first person combat on select planets.

This being the case, here is how I describe the game to all of my other nerd friends:
Remember that space-sim/fighter combat game you have wanted since you saw your first sci-fi movie or show with stafighter combat in it (be it star wars, bsg, firefly, etc) this game... this game looks like it will be that game. And I REALLY hope it does end up that game, because that's what I've been getting out of all I've been reading.

What they are calling the "Sizzle Reel" has been posted
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S0tLbWv5K60

Very little of what they have shown in these ads are actually what's in the hangar module as of yet. But still, it looks amazing.

Star Citizen has celebrated it's birthday as of October 10th and has announced "Organizations", organizations are Corporation, Private Military Corporation (PMC), Faith Based (Religious Order), or Syndicate (Criminal Organization, IE Pirates) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J5YJDOwil0k and within the same video they announce 4 new team members to the development of Star Citizen, ALL of them having worked with Chris Roberts in the past on Wing Commander, Starlancer, Privateer, and/or Freelancer, including Chris' Brother and they've announced Cloud Imperium Manchester (single player development primarily).

Also, there is a model/animation/rig competition going on for "The Next Great Starship" - https://robertsspaceindustries.com/conte...t-starship

As of this post, Star Citizen has raised $21,365,643 and still has stretch goals being added for every million. - https://robertsspaceindustries.com/funding-goals

As I've stated before, I already have 4 ships, and will probably end up with 5 by the launch of the game, I hope I have some Wingmen and co-pilots willing to fly with me!

Oh and those that DO fly with me, remember, the enemy gate is down.

Supposedly we'll be able to change organization type at any time... though I'm betting it'll cost UEC to do (In game Credits/Currency)
