FlyingMongoose and I are developing a task list/productivity/time management app for android (possibly iOS later) and would like some input for what features should be included.

Things that we would like to hear are:
  • What app do you currently use for managing your schedule or taking notes?
  • What features do you like from other apps?
  • What features of other apps do you NOT like?
  • Are there any features you have not seen but have wanted?
  • Any suggestions on the user interface?

And really anything that might be relevant at all.  Do you have any observations on time management that might be helpful?  Are there colors you like?  Any secret kittens you'd like to see?  These are the  questions.

Your help is greatly appreciated!

I'll bite.

What app do you currently use for managing your schedule or taking notes?
I just use inkpad and the HTC Sense default calendar app for the Droid DNA, as well as Alarm Clock Plus (free version).

What features do you like from other apps?
Surprisingly, the default calendar for the DNA is pretty great. It automatically syncs events I'm going to on Facebook and is fairly detailed on location, time, subject, and if I want to be reminded prior to the event and other such things. It really is a great little app.

Alarm clock plus allows me to use songs and ringtones for my wakeups as well as giving me full reign over alarm schedules and making different styles of wakeup (math for dismiss/snooze, difficulty of math, limited number of snoozes, vibration, lights on/off, etc.).

What features of other apps do you NOT like?
Inkpad is a bitch to use if you just want to MAKE NOTES. I really want something that I can get in and out of, as well as something that will actually remind me of something. Inkpad is fine for grocery lists if you've got some time, but it is really not fun to use if you just want something done quick. I want to get straight into a note, not select from a list. It'd be nice if there was an option to draw as well.

Alarm clock plus had the tendency to continue the alarm after I dismiss it on occassion, but this is mostly a non-issue for me.

Are there any features you have not seen but have wanted?

Not that I can think of. Copy/Paste event maybe?

Any suggestions on the user interface?

None what-so-ever.

Thanks for your input we'll take any and all suggestions into consideration. Some of what you put here is already planned.
