Okay, after talking to Caff a bit yesterday and doing a short test, I think I'm going to make the Archmage of Winterhold's robes from Skyrim.

I just drew a few sketches and made a rough pattern, then tested it out in some scrap fabric I had laying about. So, these images are by no means of the finished product, or anything I'll be using at all; but it's really promising that I'll be able to do this.

Here's what I've done so far:

Looks like this costume is at least three or four parts; the furred poncho, the hood, another sort of mantle over the shoulders, the under-robe, and then the shift (of course also pants, boots, etc).

Not bad for a real quick mockup, when working with fur, draw your pattern on the back with a sharpie and then use an x-acto knife to cut it out, make sure you go slowly and try not to cut the actual fur underneath, that shit will get everywhere, trust me

Alternatively, you could do the "high king of skyrim" cosplay. You could then sentence people to silly things.
