Yeah, I think I missed a few points on the CT. Should be max everywhere, with some points shaved off the head to bring it to an even half-ton.

Also, that build tweaked a bit for the 60L _also_ wrecks shit. Drop a single JJ for a third SL, and put everything into the arms which is where the hardpoints are. Spin like a top when you get fired at. Profit.

Fixed it. Somehow missed the extra crit space in the arms.

Compared to the Nova Prime: NVA-PRIME

Don't be fooled; Frequent overheats are in your future. 6xML=36 Heat/Salvo([7dmgx6ML's=42dmg] x 3ish Salvos before overheat=126 dmg). 6xSL=18 Heat/Salvo([5dmgx6SL's=30dmg] x 5 Salvos before overheat=150 dmg). Unless you plan on humping walls all match, that's a sizable gap in engagement windows. You might be able to mirror the SL build and get better results; it allows a little brawling so you can make the most of your better speed/armour. The real reason I still hold the Nova higher for this kind of build is the ability to engineer your opening with JJ's. Being able to create a second axis for an engagement gives the Nova more options, and better mobility.

For actual comparisons: The OG NVA-PRIME OR The Quirk-Aligned NVA-PRIME(10% overheat reduction)

Edit: Better math; showing the work

I'm actually wondering if a SPL boat might make the most sense. This might be the better route to go: SCR-B

According to the heat simulator, you can alpha without overheating on cold maps. That's potentially a 78 damage alpha to a single component

I touched it a little. SCR-B

Trade a pulse for HS in the RA, to fit a TC3 on the LT. Higher Heat Efficency, and Pulses do love crits. Weapon mods are a must for this setup.

I derped. TC's are only for Beam setups. Swapping all that jazz over to SL's still feels viable. Double dip on range extension with mods.

I think I would take the extra 16kph on the stormcrow. The extra armor only sweetens the deal.

What should my first clan mech be?  Assuming I ever save up enough cbills.

Increased firepower, sustained dps, and cooling. LRM 15's simply weigh less per missile launched.

His groupings were awful with 15s because of the tube arrangement, so we convinced him to go with this. It let him cram in another LL and 700 more missiles, although he really should probably drop a little ammo to shove a BAP in there. A TAG would also be hilarious, but unneeded with Artemis.

Could definitely go Endo for more heatsinks or ammo though. Or all of the above. KGC-0000

[/quote]I'd argue Kitfox or just wait and go Shadowcat in a few months. But Stormcrow is definitely the fan favorite. If you like running around in a wet paper bag, though, go Mist Lynx.

As Atom noted, not only did I run out of ammo, but groupings were bad. With the 4 LRM10s+Artemis I can lay down a damn near continuous stream of missiles if a target gets caught out and/or narc'd and likely have more missiles hit. Every pub-match after I swapped to 4x10s I've done 450+ damage playing cookie-clicker.

I've also only gotten a 20% warning when a match went stupid long and I was being liberal with missile use.
