TF Tuesdays - 9/23/08

Finally got my new card installed yesterday and TF2 plays smoother than ever. Just three maps this week, things seem to have been going a bit more slowly on the new release front and even less so on the quality portion. All three maps this week look pretty good and I look forward to playing with all of you for like the first time in almost a month.

ctf_backwards_b1 - Push style CTF, much like epicenter, and I think TF2 really needs more of these

pl_cranetop_b3 - Finally a good looking and reasonably sized PL map

tc_atlantic_v1 - Final version of Atlantic, not as good looking as something like meridian, but hopefully it will play just as well

Research is center flag, this is push, push has two flags, but instead of taking the flag from their base and bringing it back to yours you take the flag from your base and bring it to theirs

I do like research, I just think either the spawns need to be set back farther or there needs to be 2 paths from the middle into the base.

To be honest, what you saw was just an experiment to see if people would understand how to play the gametype.  Also to see if the shitty 4 second made layout would work.  It is quite obvious to me that the design needed to be tweaked, so it has changed a lot since the first test.

Prolly be there.  Personally, I'd like to see more flagrun and centerflag.  For anyone who's ever played centerflag paintball, it's a hell of a lot of fun to have everyone suciding for one flag

Centerflag paintball is only fun when you have to bring the flag back to your base.  At the place I play you have to take it to the enemies side, which is completely pointless.  I have never in all my time playing seen the flag capped once.  Either they take out all the players on the other team along the way or they get taken out.
