TF2 has been the only game where you can't destroy stickies, though, it always used to be an engineer special ability to do so, which is what I always thought would be most approperiate

<+FlyingMongoose> Caffeine`work: Karrde would actually have to tone it down some.

Ug... While I love my crits I hate when the mechanics of a game are broken down to formulas. Makes games so much more about damage and percentage calculations, and is usually when I stop caring to compete with the people willing to do the number crunching. :-\

I know that all games really come down to this, but I'd rather have an element of unknown and random chance rather than seeing who can memorize all the formulas and stats.

Exactly. To use your example, there's a fine line between knowing "okay, I shouldn't agro this, but I can get away with a little" and "I can get away with exactly this much before it agros, and after this exact number of seconds I can do it again". Crossing that line usually is when I give up on a game.

Certain things I found through experimentation had a subtle but measurable effect on the way I play, but yeah, I'm with you on that, Scotty.  A game should not become another job!

What puts me off a game is long stretches of unbreakable time commitments.  FPSs don't really suffer from that.  ... okay, there were those times where a scrim was scheduled and we wind up fucking around for 30 minutes while waiting for them to find a replacement then US to find a replacement but ANYWAY YEAH you know what I mean.
