i dont play much anymore (partially due to everything i owned being consumed in a horrifying blaze) but heres my simple solution to this whole thing


1. gold ingots are the only sellable item
2. only sell otherwise unobtainable or extremely unintentionally rare items (brown wool, chainmail, lapis, nether items) in the shop


bam now you still have to gather stuff but you can trade 1 useless item for another useless item

I say we keep it, because there is lots of things that you can't get in the game that you can obtain with simple shop. And what I mean by this is you can get things that you weren't supposed to get by earning them, rather than cheating. I.E., clay.

That's actually a pretty interesting suggestion.  It would serve to make gold the de facto currency.

Now the shop is a good thing for those who aren't mods, and want things that are otherwise unattainable. The nether materials are a prime example.

and about the 17 pages of help, you forget that craftbukkit is prerelease, the plugin providing the /help isn't functioning correctly and we are working on fixing it, no need to get all pissy about it when no one is even on the server.
