Did you ignore my message I sent last night saying

"I've been kicking and screaming at this fucking plugin for 2 hours and gotten exactly nowhere" and "I give up for tonight"?

It's using some soon to be depreciated function that explicitly says to not use because things like SourceTV and bots will throw the counter off, and that's making the entire thing fuck up.

And to top it off if I simply remove the comments from all your debug LogToGame calls so I can see what the fuck is going on, the plugin stops working altogether and refuses to give anyone or anything a reserved slot.

Most likely? I delete this entire reserved slot plugin you made and flip it over to hReservedSlots, because it does exactly what they said it does and what this plugin does, in your thread like 3 years ago.

Ill see what I can look into tonight, just turning on the log messages shouldn't change anything functionally :/

Where do you think the overuse of fuck as a descriptor came from?

Since I have a copy of SRCDS locally, last night I just downloaded the entire addons/ and cfg/ folders off red and put them on my local server, this is how it went:

Test using a 2 slot server, replays enabled, using current version of plugin:

Start server, plugin sees BOT, gives it an auth'ed slot. I connect, wheee.

find/replace //LogToGame with LogToGame, start server anew, plugin sees BOT not-authed, I try to conenct, get kicked for no reserved slot.

I fixed it, and I'll shoot myself in the face while eating my hat if it isn't actually fixed now.

Yeah, it really works now.

I've recently been getting "Can't CRC map" errors, and was wondering if you guys could provide a solution or just point me to an official server maplist so I can retrieve the ones I need to play on the BRB servers.

This is everything and more

Though it might be more on your end, have you checked to see if you have downloads enabled and your firewall disabled?

If there's a problem with CRC errors, it's on your end.

If you give me your IP address, I can go back in the logs and find where you and you alone downloaded less bytes than everyone else who requested the exact same file at the exact same time.

Do a traceroute to kirby420.com and post the results here, if the problem lies in between you and the server, Level3 may be able to reroute your connection to bypass a shitty router somewhere.

Its expensive, like $45+ a month for any decent host, and whomever puts their credit card on it is going to end up paying all of it, despite any promises of donations.

It costs 200 dollars more a week to:

Have any server mods.
Have any arena maps.
Have the maps 2fort, or cp_gorge (though strangely cp_5gorge wont run it up any)
Set tf_fixed_weapon_spreads to the value 0 (its best to leave that at 1)

Do not do any of these things.

You can trust me on this, it is totally unbiased, and absolutely true that having these things will make you pay through the nose, and it is NOT as though I am using scare tactics to enforce personal preferences.

So since I've now had 3 people come to me and say "omg Kirby yuro server is broken I can't download maps fix it it must be broken because it doesn't work for me" and then not follow up, do any diagnostic procedures or even do anything to attempt to help themselves.

Here's an example from last night. Coincidentally, one of the people who have spoken up is the problem again this time, with not one other user having trouble. Reasonable deduction says this means the problem is on the user's end.

tl;dr on how to read this if you care.

<IP Address> <date> <file> <HTTP code (if not 200, the user did not get the map correctly) <bytes sent (Example map is 5886863, anything else and the user did not get the map correctly)> <referrer>

You can readily see that every user downloaded the same file and got it properly except the one user, who's tf2 client tried to download cp_mario_bros_b4.bsp without the .bz2, which is wrong because the tf2 client will always ask for the zipped version first. It will only ask for the unzipped version if the server says it's not here, with a 404 error code.

The users client attempted to download the wrong map and did not even attempt to get the right copy of the map before. He then retried 3 minutes later, assuming he exited TF2 and restarted by the timing, then tried to reconnect. His client then asked for the appropriate .bsp.bz2 file, but stopped the download only 21KB into the file, and not the 5.7MB the map file is. This cycle occurred 3 times more, with the client aborting the file download at the exact same point. Considering the TF2 client's affinity for freezing for a few seconds or more when you hit cancel when you're trying to connect to a server, it's quite impossible that the user was the cause of this. Probably a badly configured firewall.

And this is why this thread is here, so that we can post the problems for everyone to compare notes. Thanks again Kirby.

(08-06-2011, 07:28 AM)Kirby, the FaNspyPyro link Wrote: So since I've now had 3 people come to me and say "omg Kirby yuro server is broken I can't download maps fix it it must be broken because it doesn't work for me" and then not follow up, do any diagnostic procedures or even do anything to attempt to help themselves.

Thank you for directly dealing with my blatant faggotry. I just got my filthy, plebeian fingers wrapped around a Macbook, and finally understand how old people must feel about iphones, bouncyballs and internet.
