There's a mod for Civ 4 that I think is pretty similar to Alpha Centauri. It's called Final Frontier.

Oh I loved SMAC back in the day... The fiction was very well done and the quotes where epic... Also the music was procedurally generated from a bunch of mp3 files... very trippy stuff.
I wish they would make a SMAC2... Signature temporarily out of order until I get off my lazy ass to fix it. |

Holy shit, how come I never saw that post before?
I started playing this game this week after I found my cd laying on my desk under Black & White and War & Peace 1796-1815... This game is awesome, we should try playing it online. Yet, I can see Versus, ain, cbre know this game... so I think it would be possible to bring this game back from the deads and kick each other's ass (Or agree for peace altogether..................................)
