ModDB did a spotlight on Warsow for the 2007 awards of last year.
I've giving it a thurough going over and I'm really liking the fast pace, art style, weapons, and emphasis on trick movements (wall jumps, rocket jumps, bunny hopping, etc etc etc) Instagib is also fun in any case. Links here - http://www.warsow.net/ Download on PC or Mac Flyingmongoose if you read plz make on server. I downloaded it a while ago, but there were almost no servers that had people on them. I suggest we try this out.

I loved playing this back in the day, so I installed it on my computer. It doesn't run at all, the screen just goes black and then I have to reboot manually. No ctrl-alt-del, no alt-tab, no nothing. This sucks :-[ :-[ :-[

I really got into this game like 6 months ago. It's probably the best game ever for CTF and dueling (I place it above Quake 3), but just pubbing in a 10-man dm or tdm is not so fun. The game's also not noob-friendly at all. I'd say it takes a month of playing to become "average".

It was fun but the people who play regularly will super rape you. I swear you will think they have hax, you will not be able to hit them with a single bullet and they will nail you with anything.
Also I thought I was a cool monk :-[ |

Anybody who's played Rocket Arena for 3 can tell you this. |

This seems like an interesting game. It's too bad I have no real time to play it. D:

I played it a bit today.
I like how I can make my player look like a completely black silhouette, in which all light falls into yet still casts a shadow. |

It gave me a semi just running around on empty maps. It's gonna be a brutal learning curve against regulars though.

And I DID set up a server, password is "dongs"Â ip is 205.237.100.92
It's currently set up for "DM" mode, if you can't connect via IP (connect 205.237.100.92 in console) then look for the server name brbuninstalling... and filter for dm |

Wow, that's a lot of fun. And yea Mongoose, updating my drivers did the trick (Apparently a newer driver came out in the last week or two)

Decent practice map, has areas to practice tricks http://files.filefront.com/cos1+beta7bpk...einfo.html
it's kinda unfinished, if anyone knows of a newer copy that would be swell. It's good to turn on godmode and turn down timescale to practice plasma climbing and jumping. |
