As for last game I broke a controller over... Call of Duty 4, trying to get through the campaign on Veteran. The AI is ridiculously cheap - machine guns but with sniper accuracy and will ALWAYS aim for you and only you - and there are instances where the only strategy guides offer up is to exploit the spawn points. I actually wound up trading that one in because I was literally about to spike my second controller, but stopped myself, removed the game from the 360 and immediately drove up to EB to get the store credit from it. It was a very zen-like moment. ^_^

COD4 on Veteran is hard as balls. Especially the Epilogue. Have to memorize and analyze every movement and do it quickly to beat it. Thankfully I have the PC version so it isn't quite as hard as using the sticks.

I don't think I've broken a controller. I've certainly gotten pissed at games before. Ninja Gaiden's last boss on the hardest difficulty..man that was a bitch...I was sincerely thinking about throwing my TV across the room.

Before I hit the sack, all 8 robot masters downed. Black Hole Bombs is the most over powered megaman wep since metal blades.

COD4 on Veteran surpasses fun and goes straight to miserable, at least on the harder levels.  It's decently enjoyable on the ones that don't have super cheap moments.

That's what makes it fun. It's actually a challenge and the game doesn't hand you everything on a silver platter. Which I actually didn't mind with The Force Unleashed...it's fun changing your costume to Emperor Palpatine and just using Force Lightning like no other.

Well I'm gonna have to disagree with you, but note I only ever owned the game on sexbawks, so I'm pretty biased. COD2 on veteran was fine (I had that one on PC). Retardedly hard in a few spots, but not nearly as frustrating as COD4 on console.

IMO Theres a fine line between challenge and cheap bullshit

I remember playing the original Ghost Recon and being shot at 1000 meters by untrained militia in unfavorable weather conditions while under heavy foliage cover with an AK-47 and iron sights. At some point it just becomes unrealistic

Yea..some of it is cheap like the fact that Middle Eastern terrorist shot like they just came straight out of Westpoint. It makes you use actual tactics though. In the normal mode I could run out in the middle of a field and start picking off people without a scratch. In Veteran I had to 1. ALWAYS Find cover, 2. use any opening to shoot, and 3. use every resource available. I don't think I ever had spare grenades, claymores, or anything left after any level. Yea..it's cheap, but realistically..if you were in a soldiers boots would you be running down the middle of a road while you have 10 people firing your ass up?

I've only put in enough time to beat 2 of the bosses so far (Galaxy Man and Hornet Man) sadly, but I did get like 4 challenges in the process. Nice addition, those little challenges. Heck, there's even leaderboards! Very cool and well thought out Capcom!

There's like 50 or so challenges, some are absolutely ridiculous, like beat the game without taking ANY damage. Even the Wii version has leaderboards for fastest time through certain stages.

Concreteman has the easiest stage imo, I got to the end of it without taking damage

Haven't tried Concrete Man, but Galaxy Man is pretty easy. Some tricky platforming bits but pretty easy. Hornet Man's stage has too many places where you take cheap damage.
