i'm a PC and i like to build my computers.
i'm a MAC and i like to have no rights attaining to the hardware or software inside my computer.

think about this. i know i know, Microsoft dosent build computers, but apple has the OS and the hardware and the BIOS locked down to an extent. microsoft dosent do any of this. who's the monopoly now.

Don't you badmouth Apple! Steve jobs are make the best computer evar and the extra $1000 dollars in hardware and lack of any customization is totally justified because it has OSX in it and OSX is way better than the 100 percent still broken Vista O:<

While it did have some problems, most everything (BIOS/drivers/etc.) has been fixed at this point, the varied ratings are a result of that, pay them no heed. As long as you know what you're doing or get help from someone who does, you're fine. Dual Gigabit LAN, SLI setup, etc. Lots of room for expansion and overclocking, which you damn sure better be doing down the road if you're dropping this much on a system.

I thought the nvidia 7xx boards all had video corruption issues. Comment?

Ohi, I honestly had never heard about this until you pointed it out, and I've put together three systems using the same mobo (all three are currently running fine btw.) I googled out of curiosity and lol@nvidiafuxup. However, it seems that with the 790i chipset it's generally only a problem for overclockers/people tweaking voltages, which would probably be why I've yet to see a problem.  Weird because I've seen quite a few reviews in the past of the board where the owner overclocked on it and noted no issues.

I haven't heard too much from the original poster, jump back in here and let us know if you're waiting for the new i7s or if you're going to stick with a Q9650. The i7's are supposedly hitting mid-november, so not a big wait. If you're going to stay with the Q9650 I'll research a mobo that's a bit more reliable for oc'ing, because like said, you better be doing it later if you're dropping this much on a system.

Well they are out and about for us consumers now so a Google search will reveal all the information and benchmarks you will need.
