This Thursday and Friday I will be in Virginia for business, to return to Chicago at 7:30 pm CST, I'll probably get online around 8:30 - 9pm CST, so I will need someone else to start things around 7pm.

For tonight we'll probably start off with BFR/MAX Suit combos, now dubbed 'Ducklings', and if people are still on when I get in, Id like to see us try a proper picnic if conditions allow with the phoenix.

If anyone would like to volunteer to help organize things until I get back I would be quite appreciative (Major, Shadow, Atom, looking at you guys).

Should the picnic idea fail we might be apt to try a light vehicle night (buggies/deliverers)

Certs to Get:
Any Max Suit (AA or AV Preferred) - 2/3 certs
Medium Assault - 2
Anti Vehicle - 3
Rexo - 3

Recommended:
Any Light Vehicle - 2 (Ground Transport) 3 (Buggy)
Engineering - 3
Phantasm 5 (2 for cloaker, 3 for the ship)

If we do picnic we will need one or two other phantasm pilots, so please let me know if you can fill this roll.

My contest for a group of 20 is STILL on, so make sure you come out at 7pm CST sharp Smile
- If I am not there and we hit 20 a screenshot will be required as proof

If you make a character please post their in game name here

Fun in this game increases exponentially with the more people that join up so I hope to see more of the people that stated they were interested in the initial thread to come out, the game is FREE, but you are restricted to 14 days after which you will have to start all over again. If you get "suspended" or banned since the trial accounts are loopholes just make another one. Conversely you can spend $20 to pick up the game at direct2drive, which comes with a free month, this allows you to keep your character instead of having to re-level someone every 2 weeks.

TRIAL INSTALLER

Remember, the trials sometimes will RANDOMLY suspended you, just a heads up.

If you have issues running the game, make sure launchpad.exe and planetside.exe are both bring run in Win95 Compatibility mode
Will be thar.
I will be playing tonight if anyone wants to join me.  Also if you are thinking about going out Friday tonight will be a perfect time to learn the ropes and get a couple ranks before hand.

We might get a chick on vent? That always makes the night interesting.

Also, I should be there.
Wait...if Crystal shows...and Chickadee can pull herself away from TF2 for a few hours that might be 2...a new record  :Smile

Should the picnic idea fail we might be apt to try UNBREAKABLE BUS.

I still have some screens from that night that I need to get around to posting.

At0m has admitted that he does not have the "Caffeine Magic"  strategic capacity to look at the global map and pick a fight. I think he is bluffing and he'd be fine at it, but this is the position he has previously articulated on vent on Decaffeinated outings. Major and Shadow are both quite good and not shy about picking a strategic direction, as are BeeTee, Kalarifik, and even the fishtacos that is Ertai (if any of them bother reading this). As for the BRBubians, I think Wedge is probably the best at directing the group in terms of continent, general load outs, and macro-targets (i.e., base to attack/defend/poach around).

Yeah see, this shit sounds way too complicated for me. You know what I like? Pick up gun, shoot gun, win, reload, shoot teammate for lulz, reload, win level, talk smack, get called a 12 year old boy, shoot person calling me a 12 year old boy, reload, maybe change my weapon.

See, see how much more complicated this is?
I think I can make it Smile
Actually for the most part, you've nailed it on the head. For grunts, the most complicated thing is picking which weapons and vehicles you want to use and selecting the correct certs. The rest of it is point and shoot.

The complicated bit is leading the group to a place thats going to be interesting to play in, at which I fail. I can't even keep myself entertained, which is why I'm such a low BR/CR for a going-on-6-year vet Tongue
playing now gogo

I believe Caffeine asked for ducklings, not chickens (nsfw). You sound chicken to me. And yes, these are fighting words. Is your honor sufficiently in question that I have motivated you to play yet?
Only because I love you so much, Rummy, you asshole.  :-*
Its not like I won't be there, someone just needs to entertain the masses for an hour to two before I get back

I swear I will be there...
Sniper rifles are terrible thanks to the aiming spread.  I couldn't hit a damn thing that was moving, I tried to predict where they were going to be by the time the crosshairs centered but they were being dicks and moving erratically.

Sniper rifles take time to master, but if you get good with them you can be a real bitch to people, the trick is to get adv targeting, then try to pick off the wounded, if someone has taken damage and is below 80 health, you can kill them in one shot.

Just remember tonight I wont be there until ~8:30/9pm CST Sad
I'm dropping sniping next time I log on, I've been trying out different things to see what I like playing with the best.  I'm definitely keeping medic and engineering, so I got few leftover points to work with.  I really need to gain some levels.
This. Also, make sure you lock crouch © when using either of the sniper rifles, and it's easier to hit things if you pan slowly and try to predict their movement than if you try to make twitch shots. I'm personally a fan of using the Bolt Driver indoors, if you're the second or third person into a tower usually there's someone wounded enough to blow away in one hit right off the bat. The HSR is a wonderful harassment tool, especially against BFRs, because of its much faster fire rate. It has just as much chance of damaging/destroying equipment as the Bolt Driver and fires at least twice as fast. The main problem there is each clip is a whole box of ammo, and it takes 3-5 shots to kill a softie at full health.
it'd also help if aiming the sniper rifles wasn't INCREDIBLY clunky
