This is the 3rd or 4th time.  Should I bother trying to send it in or just buy another one?  Do the new ones have the same failure rates?
IIRC, the newer (post august 2008) models have a smaller failure rate because of the newer motherboards or something. Plus, I believe that Microsoft will stop sending out 360 coffins soon enough so that shipping becomes much faster.

Mine's from before august and i haven't had any RRoD. Maybe it's pure luck. Or maybe because the voltage on the US is higher than here (fyi this is a fact, we've got to use special adapters to be able to use most imported stuff, this includes the Xbox)

if it's still free, just send it back
less you have money sitting around you feel the need to spend, in that case you could just donate it to me for my rig.

also this
I dunno if it is still under warranty, I got it pretty close to release.  But I think each time you send it back it renews your warranty, so maybe I've just been chaining it along.

pretty sure they still cover RRoD's even if it's out of warranty

[/quote]it's a 3 year policy here. it also covers the E74 error which dictates the same problem that the RROD caused. just a different error because of the new hardware

Standard voltage in the US is 110 volts, isn't Chile 220? Also, if you're using a transformer for your 360 to be running at 110, how does that make any difference at all?

I'd be really surprised if the power supply wasn't auto-switching 110-220 volt.
Then again, this is a Microsoft engineered product.
