Be Right Back, Uninstalling

What: To quote Destructoid's Yashoki: "If you've never played The Ship before think of it as Clue meets The Sims. The idea of the game is that you're on a ship with many other passengers and everyone has someone that they must murder. The twist is that you also have to tend to your needs such as eating, sleeping, going to the restroom and showering; all of which are designed to distract you while your murderer hunts you down. The Ship involved a ton of mind games as there will be players trying to make you believe they must hunt you down."  For more info I highly suggest you check out Surf's excellent beginners guide for it.

Why: It's an amazingly unique and fun experience. The way's of killing people are highly inventive and varied, whether it be a revolver, fire axe, poison syringe or simply lighting them on fire. The game can quickly become and intense cat and mouse chase with the victim ducking in and out of the safe zones in, balancing hunting his own prey, while avoiding his would be assassin. It's a type of game you'll get no where else and that you have to at least experience once.

When: Sunday the 5th starting at 8:00 PM EST.

Where: Either at 205.237.100.92:27025 (go to the console and type connect 205.237.100.92:27025) Courtesy of the lovely Mission Difficult <3 or 72.233.56.10:27017 Courtesy of the lovely Yashoki <3 Also, since the game has no voice chat we'll be in Vent during the match chatting away, so make sure you hop in there

How: The game is only $20 on Steam, and plenty of members have guest passes there willing to donate. And apparently, if your diligent you can find it in bargain bins and such for even less.

So would you guys mind if we partnered up with Dtoid in some fashion for this? There's a good amount of them eager to play, and most of them either never took part in the great controversy of old, or just plain don't care anymore. If you don't feel comfortable with it, I fully well understand and differ to that, but they seem like an upstanding bunch and it would be great to get as many people as possible playing.

Yashoki does have a permanent server up as well, and was wondering what you guys thought about using it. He's more then happy to give any BRB'Uers admin and we can always go back to the modbox if things go sour.

Hate to be stupid, but what is the Vent info?

Alright, were playing on ours tonight, just us, but we'll see about doing some kind of colab another time. As for now join 205.237.100.92:27025 and hop on vent!

There's a pinned post about it, in this forum. I'm not going to link it because you need to learn to find things like that on your own. Remeber that 'Vent' is short for 'Ventrilo' and you should be on the right track.

Also, I missed out but last time I played I didn't really enjoy myself. Too much of the game is learning the map, which is difficult to do when you get killed randomly for being a nublet :/

Unfortunately The Ship is the definition of amazing idea, poor execution.  If you can get past it's faults it is a worthwhile experience.  I'm really hoping for a better follow up with fixes for some of the issues.  TBH this game would ideally be some sort of MMO/Source mod hybrid or something.  The flow of the game just doesn't fit with the current system and feels shoe-horned in.  I wish we had a feedback line to the developers.

I dunn know, I still think it's incredibly fun. You just need to get acclimated. Last night was great btw :3 I'm still hoping we can get some kind of collaboration going, but just us alone is already awesome experience
