Oh yeah!
Oh ouais!

I decided that I wanted more people to speak french around here.
J'ai décidé que je voulais que plus de personnes parlent français par ici.
Dave tries hard, but it just isn't enough...
Dave essaie fort, mais ce n'est tout simplement pas assez...

So, here I am, to teach all of you the language of Molière.
Alors, me voici, pour tous vous apprendre la langue de Molière.

I am also thinking that this should be useful to the other Canadians out there...
Je me disais aussi que cela devrait être utile aux autres canadiens ici...
Because, you know that French is also one of Canada's offical languages, right?
Parce que, vous savez que le français est aussi une langue officielle du Canada, non?

So, here's what I plan to do.
Alors, voici ce que je prévois faire,

First, I'll translate what I post in here in french... in case you didn't notice.
Premièrement: Je vais traduire ce que je publie ici en français... au cas où vous n'auriez pas remarqué.
Second: I've made one thousand cookies.
Deuxièmement: J'ai fait mille biscuits.
I'll be asking questions, as in small quizzes.
Je vais poser des questions, comme dans des petits quiz.
Good answers will grant you cookies!
Des bonnes réponses vous mériteront des biscuits!
Third: I have a nice stack of bricks too.
Troisièmement: J'ai aussi un beau tas de briques.
Get an answer wrong, and one of those bricks will become a brick-on-your-face...
Ratez une réponse et une de ces briques deviendra une brique-dans-votre-face...

Here I go, with both positive and negative conditionning (Pavlov would be proud).
Je me lance, avec un conditionnement à la fois positif et négatif (Pavlov serait fier).

This is a serious thread... D= Hope it still works out.
C'est un sujet sérieux... D= J'espère que cela fonctionnera quand même
First course: Nouns and genders.
Premier cours: Noms et genres.

In french, there are 2 genders: masculine and feminine.
En français, il y a 2 genres: le masculin et le féminin.

Learning which noun is which would actually have to be done by heart...
Apprendre quel nom est de quel genre devrait en fait être fait par coeur...
That's why there are dictionaries to help!
C'est pourquoi il y a des dictionnaires pour aider!

Here's one use for the genders:
Voici une utilité des genres:

The determiner changes with the gender.
Le déterminant change selon le genre.
In english, you use "the", "a/an/some", "this/these/those", and "my/your/his/her/our/their".
En anglais, on utilise "the", "a/an/some", "this/these/those" et "my/your/his/her/our/their".
In french, it's "le/la/les", "un/une/des", "ce/cette/ces/cettes", and "mon/ma/mes/ton/ta/tes/son/sa/ses/notre/nos/votre/vos/leur/leurs".
En francais, c'est "le/la/les", "un/une/des", "ce/cette/ces/cettes" et "mon/ma/mes/ton/ta/tes/son/sa/ses/notre/nos/votre/vos/leur/leurs".
Because it also changes when there is more than one of the thing.
Parce qu'il change aussi quand il y plus d'un objet.

Anyways...
De toutes façons...
Usually, that's now it goes:
Voici comment cela se passe, d'habitude:
A noun that ends with an "e" has 80% chances to be feminine. (The leg (feminine), a nail (masculine)).
Un nom qui finit par un "e" a 80% de chances d'être féminin. (La jambe (féminin), un ongle (masculin)).
Otherwise, it's 80% chances to be masculine. (The killer (masculine), the flower (feminine)).
Sinon, il a 80% de chances d'être masculin. (Le tueur (masculin), la fleur (féminin)).
A feminine noun has 80% chances to end with an "e".
Un nom féminin a 80% de chances de se terminer par un "e".

Here's to practice:
