Sadly, I may not be able to make this week. If I can't, we'll still be in the usual server and Versus will be in charge.

What: To quote Destructoid's Yashoki: "If you've never played The Ship before think of it as Clue meets The Sims. The idea of the game is that you're on a ship with many other passengers and everyone has someone that they must murder. The twist is that you also have to tend to your needs such as eating, sleeping, going to the restroom and showering; all of which are designed to distract you while your murderer hunts you down. The Ship involved a ton of mind games as there will be players trying to make you believe they must hunt you down."  For more info I highly suggest you check out Surf's excellent beginners guide for it.

Why: It's an amazingly unique and fun experience. The way's of killing people are highly inventive and varied, whether it be a revolver, fire axe, poison syringe or simply lighting them on fire. The game can quickly become and intense cat and mouse chase with the victim ducking in and out of the safe zones in, balancing hunting his own prey, while avoiding his would be assassin. It's a type of game you'll get no where else and that you have to at least experience once.

When: Sunday the 5th starting at 8:00 PM EST.

How: The game is only $20 on Steam, and plenty of members have guest passes there willing to donate. And apparently, if your diligent you can find it in bargain bins and such for even less.

This night was... disappointing at best.
We ended up on a custom map with guards everywhere. Many players kept killing with no descretion, we need a mod on.

I'm sorry but
A) It was my first time
B) You pricks kept killing me so I got paranoid and said fuck it
and C) I was not aware just plain killing everyone was frowned upon since there seems to be no downside and it's so damn easy and you all did it anyway.

I dunno, maybe there's some etiquette to this game but if just plain murdering anyone who gives you a funny look is that gamebreaking we have a problem 'cause at the start I kept getting killed by Neonie so I just sort of ran with it.

Short version: Geoff made me do it.
If you guys want I can change the amount of kills allowed before it kicks you. I'm also pretty sure there is a votekick command in the game as well.
You can't win if you kill randoms, you get a huge money penalty every time you do.

Oh, well I went in with the mindset that I wouldn't win anyway, still didn't get last on any game so I guess someone else was on a bigger murder spree than me.

LOL probably.  Though if you were paranoid and went insane with killing people I think the game did it's job.  In the mod I remember a mechanic I wish they would have kept though.  Basically each time you killed somebody you got psychological turmoil points (far greater for an innocent rather than your target or your attacker).  If you got too many you would go insane with grief and kill yourself.

See that makes sense. All the game told me was I had bloodlust or some shit and I had already figured that out around the time I was sniping people with a musket who followed me for more than 30 seconds. Though I came late and only played two maps. The first had waaaaaaaaaay too many guards, by the time I figured out how to get a weapon and go stabby stab I was arrested every time. Sad The second was nice, though camping the jail broke the map in two.
I kill random people all the time, at the very least i thought you BRBU Members would do it to for funzies, i see i was wrong.
I'm glad that feeling in my gut told me "Honest is doing what you'd do so there's no need to go."

The amount of fun you get in the game is directly proportionate to how willing everyone in the server is to play it right.  It's cool to goof off every once in a while but if the whole server is doing it the game sucks.  This is probably why the game didn't do so well and why the most common response I got from veteran ship players when I started this previous was "OMG you can get a server full of people that don't fuck around?  I'm so in!"
