Howdy folks, time for one that everyone will want in on! IT'S DIABLO NIGHT
Anyone not familiar with what I and some other, elite, members of brb.u have been doing the last several Sunday afternoons and evenings, we've been playing a Co-Op game per week. After a few weeks of "what should we play next," we (I) decided we'd travel down the entire list of Co-Op games for PC, according to wikipedia.Â
For our regularly scheduled trip through the computer game coop list to hit letter "D", we couldn't pass up this gem (that and it'd handily win any vote offered).
However, since all games in the series are fairly massive in scope and time, we have special rules created by yours truly.
Date: August 09, 2009
Time: 7 PM EDT (6 CDT)
Location: Direct IP connections (Hamachi may be a good alternative to help connection problems)
Hamachi group: SeriousUninstalling pass: brbu
IRON MAN MODE
Iron Man mode is essentially a modified hardcore with extra incentive to playing as a group and "making do with what you got."
The ground rules:
The team spawns in town and purchases whatever they can before heading into the dungeon/world. The premise is that the world needs saving as quick as possible right? Then why the hell do we run back to town every 10 seconds to sell crap and buy better stuff? True Iron Men use only what they scavenge from the battlefield. Oh, did your BADASS SWORD OF BADASSERY break? Time to dump it and use the peashooter you found since you were hoarding only armor. Tool.
Specifically...
* NO RETURNING TO TOWN TO SELL.
* Any weapons/armor/potions you ever use are what you find on the ground. SCAVENGE, DAMMIT!Â
* NO RESPAWNING (res scrolls are permitted for Diablo 1, and each person gets 1 free respawn for each defeated boss in D2)
* If someone lags out while waiting on res scroll, they may rejoin as long as someone tosses a res scroll on their dead body's location
* If you beat the game (or Act Boss for D2), you "win" (+1 respawn per player) and move to Nightmare difficulty (tiebreaker) if two groups win.
* Winning team per game gets bragging rights and gets to make the rules for the next Diablo event
* No team size minimum, but we will keep it as even as possible (Max 4)
If you break any of these rules (going to town especially), you will be kicked or lose your bragging right ability for tarnishing the fun of the event. It's not like there's money on the line
If interested in joining in with the Iron Men of brb.u, post here with which game you plan on joining in on (we'll sort out the teams around Friday or Saturday).
