I can get a free copy of Windows 7 through my schools MSDNAA, and I would like to copy the DVD so I don't have to re-rent it if I have to reinstall, repair, etc.
I don't really ever plan on using it, as I am going to be imaging the install, but if I do have to repair my boot loader, I would need the disc.
I've looked for information, but most of the information available seems to be about getting around the copy protection on movies.
Does anyone have any experience copying DVD's? can you just make an ISO of the disc and burn it like you would a CD?
That should work I think. Unless the disc has something on it that'd prevent that. I'd give it a go.

the disk is in iso format right now I'd bet so what you want is to copy the disk image. Then you could burn it on to another disk.

alright, i'll just have to get a hold of a cd ripper, although im quite sure i have one installed already.

Don't Copy That Floppy (Official Video - Digitally Remastered)
Microsoft uses a license system. They 'let' you copy their discs as much as you want, as long as you have a legitimate license purchased for each machine.
They do no use any copy protection on their discs, so any CD/DVD software with a copy function will suit your needs.
