New Septempber Trailer/Sneak Peak - contains actual examples of gameplay ;P  Not all FX (especially the hideous death ball) are done yet Tongue

Evidently Xstortionist pimped up our moddb profile, too.
Will the game actually be playable?
uh, define?  I mean of course it'll be playable, but in what sense?  Will it run on a wide spectrum of hardware and do we have multiple levels of detail and the ability to turn fancy graphical effects on and off?  Yeah, just like any modern game.  Will you like it?  Dunno.

That's the one. ESF felt... Well... CLUNKY.
Ah, well it definately has the highest learning curve I've ever seen.  I mean pros are just so much better than new players that you can expect to do approximately zero damage and be constantly comboed until you learn the game well.  We're working on some options (mostly running n00b servers) to handle that.  ESF as it is now is pretty responsive.  Focus is mostly on simple melee (with a lof of extensions we put in).  The old 1.2.3 advanced melee was scrapped.  It's now all about being able to succesfully chase, hit, and combo, while uitlizing a list of specialty bonus moves and quickcharge beams (or normal for longer distance attacks).  It's really repsonsive these days in my opinion.

Good to hear. Can't wait to give it a second run.
...
So long as you're not going to have me chase for capsules just to remain competitive.
I think we dumped senzu beans (PIIIIILLLLS?) entirely.  Even in 1.2.3 I think there's only one map with them in it.
