I'm taking an extra class called "Audiovisual animation history" and as my final grade i was assigned to talk about animation on a certain country. And i got Canada. So i need your help.
Can you please make a brief resume about animation in Canada? or at least what you saw. You can point studios, channels, even the age where you saw them and your impressions.

this list, but many of the franchises were american or japanese and nelvana just distributed them here
YTV and Teletoon are the two big cartoon-oriented tv channels

as for quebec cartoons, I don't remember one, they had mixes of live action and cartoon switching style from time to time. we had many japanese cartoons since alot were already translated for france.

Yes, the Raccoons. I remember that. I think the joke generally was among my friends and I that if it was on TV it probably wasn't made in Canada.

Holy FUCK I was thinking this exact thing, reading this thread. CBC would play that durning their non-existant Saturday Morning cartoon block when I was like 6-7. Generally they played it when they had nothing in the way of commercial programming.
