Evening.

I’m Tricks, been off and on BRB for a few weeks now. I play a variety of classes, and like many newer TF2 players am looking for a community. I received a very high recommendation of your servers for a place to get beat into the ground while I learn the game.

I’m 23 and a recovering WoW addict. I’m sure several of you have dabbled in the game as well. If you want to talk WoW I’m game I guess, but there is very little love lost between me and the game anymore (same goes for DoTA, HoN, etc).

I love FPS. I’m just about done with Borderlands, picking up LFD2 soon as I finish, and trying to get better at TF2. I am a big fan of Bioware games in general, and I’m playing though Mass Effect one right now getting ready for the ME2 drop in January.

I have two T-200 Nurmark direct drive turntables, and I really like indie hip hop and electro. MF Doom, Madlib, J Dilla, along with a litany of electronica artists. I try beatmaking as well on Fruity Loops and other programs for fun.

I run a I7 core computer with a 21 inch monitor. I spend way too much money on electronic junk, but I have to admit I have a fun time getting it. I love Razer keyboards.

I’m not shy, feel free to add me to your friends list. Feel free to offer any tips or pointers.

I’ll see you around.

Been Co-Oping or Solo?

I've found it to be a TON more fun with a group of four than alone
Welcome!

You look like a nice person... enjoy your stay.

Cool song, trippy video. Thanks for the link. ALL CAPS is great, I love Madvillian.
I like this guy already. Also I lawled when I heard NPR playing an Aesop Rock beat in between segments.

Also when are you and Mission going to make out, or at least move in together and make a hilarious sitcom.

Grouping prior to L4D2 and MW2 coming out, solo mainly these days. I play as the Siren, level 40 right now and halfway through my second playthrough. I’m definitely excited for the DLC to come out for this game. The second playthrough is more enjoyable in terms of challenge; I felt significantly overpowered in the first playthrough. Gamespy is awful to work with, and it is difficult to find people to play with. I’ll add some names on that list if people still regularly play, my Gamespy ID is Trick246.

I'll add your ID to the general list in the borderlands thread, its a ton of fun either with mixed classes or when you stack heavily toward one particular class, 4 Bricks + Team Melee Class Mod = lulz, just go around beserking everything with a +200% or more bonus
I like tricks, he's a good medic :")

welcome!
Ah, didn't see this for a while. Sorry for the last response (like a week...), but welcome! You seem cool, so nice to meet you.
Hey

BRB is a good place to play. You get a good laugh here and there. Don't worry you'll get better at the game. Everyone does.

Never played WoW. I find it to be a year consumer. Plus it's costly.

FPS are my favourite too. Most 3rd person games are just not great. TF2 is great and L4D2, I'm told and with my own eyes, it's brilliant.
If your a big fan of BioWare and like Mass Effect, then I must not need to tell you about Dragon Age Origins.  Wink

I'll add you when I get back on my feet, when my graphics card is fixed. (hopefully before Christmas)

Welcome and Merry Christmas!

Welcome and Merry Christmas!

I’m very interested in Dragon Age, and I hope to pick it up as soon as possible. I feel like there are a lot of random sales going on right now during this Holiday season, and I worry that as soon as I pick it up it will be on sale somewhere else. It’s less about the money, and mainly about not looking like a fool.

WoW doesn’t play nice with other games. It is all-consuming, all-demanding. I never found the $15 a month that prohibitive, especially considering I was getting in 250 hours a month. At six cents an hour, it was a bargain.
I don't want to start a riot but I would like to see WoW playing not count towards being "a gamer" just because I'm sick of hearing people rave about this hot chick being a gamer and then only listing WoW as what they play. It's kinda in it's own classification because it requires a different skillset and it has a much different social component than more traditional games.

It sounds like you either think all gamers should subscribe to the same approach to gaming that you share, or that gamers who really only enjoy one game (for example hardcore Starcraft fans in Korea) aren’t gamers at all. I can understand your point and frustration. I think gamers outside of the Blizzard fanboy world can be frustrated by the lack of community and devotion that WoW, D2, or Starcraft gamers have. It sorts of seems like a cult that sucks away your friends from playing other games with you.

As for the “hot chick”, I can’t imagine you are talking about anybody other than Mia Rose. Mia is pretty hardcore into WoW, plays an undead warlock, and hangs out on EJ quite a bit. I can’t see how having people promote video games as socially acceptable would be offensive to anybody, but I can understand disliking people who keep all their eggs in one basket. Most of the guys I talk to think it is pretty cool to hang out in vent with her, and she manages to pull her weight during raids. I don’t see what the issue is there.

On a secondary note: one’s introduction thread seems like a strange place to bring this up, no?
