Does anybody really like Mos Def? I just am a huge fan of his work. I have really enjoyed him in films, not just music as well. He plays really deep, thoughtful roles. Remember him in Highjacker’s Guide? Solid performance.

As for his music, I am just a HUGE sucker for the classic samples and beats he uses. I fully subscribe to the school of J Dilla and Mad Lib when it comes to beat making; classic samples from old vinyls. No auto-tone here. I really like his cadence too; it isn’t one-liner based, but it sounds like he is really having fun on the track.

Mos Def - Auditorium (Feat. Slick Rick)

Anyway, I really recommend his music.
I like him but in some of his older albums more. Black on Both Sides I think is his absolute best album.

Really good.

Also you ever listen to busdriver? Playful cerebral nonsense rap:
Busdriver - Imaginary Places

14. Busdriver - Sorry. Fuckers

Busdriver - Least Favorite Rapper feat. Nocando
Anyone ever listen to Sean Lennon? He does a lot of... it's hard to describe. It's like light rock with keyboard and synthesizers. I like him a lot, so I'll post 2 or 3 songs of his I like. The videos are from the DVD that came with the Friendly Fire album, so they won't make much sense (he tried to go and make a sort of experimental film thing with his album, there's a back story to the album I'll tell people about that sorta became his way of coping with a bad event). But without further ado... enjoy:
Sean Lennon - "Dead Meat" Video
Sean Lennon - Parachute - From Friendly Fire, A Film
Really good pop/rock.
Morningwood - Jetsetter

Awesome track. I love where Mos Def took a drink from the bottled watter, and then proceeded to keep rapping at the right place in the song. Good beat too.
My wife really likes this band and its p good but this may be the most fucked up video:
Kashmir - Rocket Brothers

This is a contender as well:
N.A.S.A. "Gifted" (feat. Kanye West, Santogold, & Lykke Li)

Bonus Gang Starr for all the hip hop fans:
Gang Starr - Moment Of Truth
Can't get this song outta my head, it's phenomenal

Bjork -kindness kind ( Delikate Impostors Remix ) TEMAZOO

IMO one of the better (chillout/progressive?) trance tune's I've heard in a long while
Frosti

My favorite Bjork, thanks for reminding me! Now I may add this to my youtube favorites, like another shiny jewel in my cave.

Hardly. I submit, what I believe may be the 3 weirdest videos ever.

I believe in a Thing Called Love
The Darkness - I Believe In A Thing Called Love

Awesome song though. Not a fan of the next 2 but still weird videos.

Electric Six - "Gay Bar" (Hi Res)
WTF ABRAHAM LINCOLN. That is all.

Samwell - "What What (In the Butt)"
VNV Nation.  Fuckwin if you enjoy Industrial/EMB/Synthpop type stuff.

VNV Nation - Darkangel

VNV Nation - Solitary

VNV Nation- Beloved

VNV Nation-Chrome

Also, an entry for "weird fucking music video"

Dailymotion - Rammstein | Mann Gegen Mann - a  video
Good song, odd video, but hey... dragon suit!
Dan Le Sac VS. Scroobius Pip - "Letter From God To Man"

I'll post more as my addiction to british artists continues
God I love the song Darkangel, VNV nation owns. I know that song almost by heart, everytime I hear it I can't help but sing the lyrics all dramatic and britishy Big Grin

Though some of their songs are pretty bad.  Like Structure and Airships (Airships isn't bad it's just.. ehhh..)

Can't say I'm a fan of chrome either. Tragic Hero is great stuff though:

Pretty sure that's Funker Vogt.  Unless VNV decided to remix it and I never heard about it.  Which is entirely possible.  And what's wrong with Airships?  Not a fan of the slower songs?  And not liking Epicentre I just don't get Tongue  But that's ok, everyone has dif tastes (it'd be pretty boring if we didn't)
Well airships isn't bad, it's just compared to the other songs I have on my little VNV nation mix CD I always end up just skipping past it in favor of listening to something like Electronaut or Honour Tongue
