I would prefer to buy games through Steam personally, but I am checking D2D each day for their "24 Days of Christmas" Promotion just in case Dragon Age or something goes on sale (missed the steam sale).

http://www.direct2drive.com/holiday/

Basically, each day up till Christmas they have a different game up for sale for between 50-75% off. Today's is Lord of the Rings Conquest, yesterday was Prototype. Nothing screaming "buy me, buy me" just yet, but I will update the OP each day with the sale of the day just in case there is something you have been waiting to buy.

12/07/2009-Lord of the Rings: Conquest  $9.95
12/08/2009-Mercenaries 2 World in Flames $4.95
12/09/2009-Street Fighter IV $19.95
12/10/2009-Battlefield 2 Complete Collection $14.95
12/11/2009-Dragon Age: Origins $39.95
12/12/2009-Sims 3 $39.95
12/13/2009-Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor $7.50
12/14/2009-Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 $9.95
12/15/2009-Need for Speed ProStreet $4.95
12/16/2009-Section 8 $12.50 [glow=red,2,300](75% off)[/glow]
12/17/2009-Resident Evil 5 $24.95
12/18/2009-Trine  $9.95
12/19/2009-Civilization 4: The Complete Edition $15.95
12/20/2009-Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II $19.95
12/21/2009-Machinarium $9.95
12/22/2009-Champions Online $14.95
Dragon Age or L4D2 would be quite spiffy
I missed Mass Effect for $5, hope either they put it up again or it's on sale during steam's actual holiday sale
D2D doesn't work for me.  When there were a bunch of sales going on a month or so ago I tried buying some stuff, and it wouldn't accept my credit card, or my dad's card when I tried it.  The payment window just "loads" for a while and then it tells me there's something wrong.
Looks like tomorrows sale will be Street Fighter 4  ;D
now nobody has an excuse to not get it if it's cheap enough

Not likely: The ornament for yesterday was Mirror's Edge, and today is Mercenaries. The ornament has little to do with the game up for sale.
Though it seems more likely that it would be on sale at some time.

Since it def. doesn't say in crimson red "Pick tomorrow's game for a chance to win!" right below the picture of the ornament...
No it's not. I have absolutely no complaints about playing it with other people that aren't online player who do fierce dragon punch all day. Season's Beatings was fun as hell, and I didn't get very far because of my own shortcomings. But that's my fault. You don't see this much character variation with most other fighting games, the only one I really see as much character variation is with Guilty Gear and Blazblue. It's good that it's balanced enough to where more people feel comfortable picking more than  just the top tier characters. If you actually look at tournament winnings, the highest rated character (Sagat) NEVER wins tournaments because so many people play him that they're all familiar with the matchup.
What would I need to hook up my controller to my PC if I buy street fighter?
If it's a USB controller, nothing.  Maybe some drivers.  If it's a PS2 or something you need to find a converter.  Too bad Sony put lik-sang out of business.

ffffffffff how much for a decent one? I think I may skip actually I'm not very good at fighting games. At least not since Killer Instinct.
Any controller from a modern console works fine.  I mostly just use a 360 controller because I suck with a joystick.  However almost everyone that plays the PC version will beat your ass handily, so maybe you should stay away.  Unless you can get people from brb to play you, because they all suck.

Start what?  Get people to play again?  I remember we started a tournament bracket but then nobody played anything.
No, saying that everybody in brbu sucks. Versus doesn't suck as much, he picked up a decent amount compared to when he started. Tragic had previous street fighter experience, only the new adopters are the ones that aren't very good yet. LAG, Negate, Coppanuva, etc. Even then I gladly give tips and give them reference material to look up. Also I've yet to meet a *really* good player on random online yet on pc, you just knock them down, walkover them and block their wakeup dragon punches until they learn or you win.

Your don't seem to realize I'm just talking shit to try and motivate people to play, do you?  Also there is absolutely god like Abel I see on PC sometimes who will tear your shit to shreds.  I literally cannot even hit him, just a constant stream of block strings and mixups.
