While the poll was 50/50, I think there's enough interest to try a revival night. The good thing is that at the moment, there are no hackers in the game, before they updated the game for Vista/Windows 7 there was an easy to use hack and players could just continue making new accounts with trials and never really get banned.
The game is $20 on direct2drive and this comes with a one month subscription, if you do not wish to pay you can use 14 day trial accounts. The good thing is that no matter what level you are, you can get kills. Higher levels just mean you can carry more stuff and a wider variety of stuff. Even if a higher level has access to 8 different guns, they can only carry two on them at once, it all comes down to how good of a shot you are.
If anyone would like to try the game out before the 16th, please let me know and I'd be glad to give you an in-game rundown of the GUI and how to do things. The game can be very overwhelming and complex at times, but once you get the basics of spawn -> get gear -> Move from Point A to B -> Kill Stuff, it gets pretty easy. Its usually the Point A to Point B that people have the most problems with.
The tactics we use are straight out of the goonfleet handbook, attack a high value target with lots of low value units, a BFR (large robot) unit takes 15 minutes to spawn, four people jumping out of an invisible plane on one take 30 seconds or less to respawn as a group. In addition to BFRs we will also do anything that will generally ruin the fun of our opponents, including tower drops, ninja-routers (putting a teleporter inside a base's generator room), and general faggotree.
Sound off if you plan on dropping byÂ
Oh, and no, our outfit name has not been nerfed, its still Allah Akbar Airlines

Day: SATURDAY
Time: 7pm cst (or earlier)
Ventrilo is mandatory
IP: il3.leetvent.com
Port: 3864

If you make a character please post their in game name here
Fun in this game increases exponentially with the more people that join up so I hope to see more of the people that stated they were interested in the initial thread to come out, the game is FREE, but you are restricted to 14 days after which you will have to start all over again. If you get "suspended" or banned since the trial accounts are loopholes just make another one. Conversely you can spend $20 to pick up the game at direct2drive, which comes with a free month, this allows you to keep your character instead of having to re-level someone every 2 weeks.
TRIAL INSTALLER
(If this site is not working let me know, it was down for maintenance last Sunday)
Use this to install the game
Alternatively this
The first link will install only PS, the other is SOE's general launcher which you then have to select to install PS, both require an account with SOE's Station
If the old school launcher is not working, set launchpad.exe to run in compatability mode for win95. Alternately you can use the SOE Beta LaunchPad, either work.
Remember, the trials sometimes will RANDOMLY suspended you, just a heads up.
If you have issues running the game, make sure launchpad.exe and planetside.exe are both being run in Win95 Compatibility mode
