Zombie Master Half-life 2 Modification

http://www.zombiemaster.org/

Zombie Master is a unique game, plain and simple. You are either the survivors, running for your life to escape the devious, all-seeing Zombie Master, completing objectives in order to make your escape.... Or you are the omnipresent power, the living dead at your control! Bendable to your will! Destroy the survivors, and take over the world with the powers of the--... Well, you get the idea. The mod comes packed with a variety of zombies to fight or fight for you, including the classic Shamblers!

A quick rundown of each side and the item/zombies:

Survivors:

Survivors are to make their way through the maps, doing their little objectives be it carrying something to a point or flipping a few switches. Maps are usually long and full of traps and zombie spawns, so one must take note of their surroundings, and be ware! Lots of weapons and items exist to make the survivors hell a little more bearable, including: Shotguns, Winchester Rifles, Mac-10s, Pistols, Revolvers (Sorry, no .44), and melee weapons like the crowbar and sledgehammer. You may also find molotov cocktails scattered throughout the maps, and ammo, but be warned, conservation is your friend! survivors are also encouraged to share with their teammates.

Zombie Master:

Zombie Master is more like the Dungeon Master of the game. His job is to make the game fun for the survivors, as well as kill them in hilarious and unexpected ways. A good ZM tries to make the map winnable, but still a challenge. The game plays similar to a Real Time Strategey, or RTS perspective. you are a disembodied entity who can see the field from a top-down or Source-specator like mode, controlling your minions by selecting them and moving them. You may also manipulate preset items in the map, via the 'Yellow Orbs' to set, or activate traps in the various parts of the map, including exploding gas tanks, falling boards, or even just a 'boo!' to rattle the survivors. The ZM has lots of zombie types at his disposal, the cheapest being the good ol' shamblers and the most expensive being the dreaded Immolators. The best thing to do here is jump in and try, know what the zombie types do and how they behave, and make a good game! .... And most importantly, have fun doing it!

That's ZM in a nutshell.

Next up is ....

Empires  Half-life 2 Orange Box Engine Modification

http://www.empiresmod.com/

Edit*: Empires New Player Guide (A reccomended reading before jumping in): http://www.empiresmod.com/help/

Empires, many of you have probably already heard of it, is a combination, like ZM, of an FPS and RTS, a hybrid, to say. The game works like this: Two commanders, one for each team, and your infantry. Objectives are normally like any other RTS: destroy the enemy base, command, expand, and conquer. The best way to explain this mod would be to break it down into the components and explain each individually, so that is what I shall do.

Commanders:

Commanders are playing the game as an RTS. They have their typical interface, with the ability to place down structures, conduct research through various tech trees, upgrade, and select players/give orders. The commander commands through a vehicle known as the Mobile Command Vehicle, or "comm truck", and should this vehicle be destroyed, you will lose. One must protect it at all costs, and take advantage of its high armour and mobility as ways to evade the enemy. As a commander, your job is to strategise and give orders to your men, display locations of known enemy units, and continue your research with available funds. Resources are important, and typically hard to get as the enemy commander will attempt to procure the Nodes for himself! Remember to constantly upgrade and expand your research tree, and yet have a healthy balance of economy so you don't run dry, as no money means no one can purchase vehicles, and the team falls apart.

Players:

As players, YOU are the units. You are each a first-person representation of an individual unit, a little guy on the Commander's viewport to give orders to. You play as a typical first-person shooter, with various kits and customizability to fit your mission or playstyle. As a little guy, you are to follow orders given to you by your commander, or do your best to make the enemy hurt. Your best thing is to work with your fellow infantry men, and with this teamwork, accomplish the objectives your commander lays out to you, such as constructing various buildings, or taking an enemy expansion point to procure more resource nodes. There are 4 classes, and each of them have their own little quirks, including interchangable weapons to further diversify your role as a particular class. Everyone has a job to do.

There are three ways to win, more depending on certain maps.

Capture the control points (like the TF2 mode) which is usually infantry-based or a mix of infantry and vehicles. Typically no commander in this mode.

Destroy the enemy command vehicle, which is standard is most classic modes.

Win the ticket war, each side as a number of tickets representing one infantry man. Every man who dies and respawns, loses one ticket. Upon no tickets, you can no longer respawn and when no more players are alive, the round is over. Reviving others as an engineer negates the ticket effect, provided one has the revive ability.

-Space pending review of current mod.- Jailbreak: Source

Those are them in a nutshell. I will add more mods to this as I take the time to type out little reviews for them. Feel free to add any other mods for any game to this thread with the same review type if you would like.
I'll give this a sticky, we already have a mod suggestion thread here, but I think you're going into a little bit more detail than "Hey we should play dystopia"
Review Bisounours Party.
