Ok first I need help with something a bit complicated. Something is screwy with my wiresless router and the software Linksys gave me can never detect the router it self. What I need is a program, or information on how to do it in windows, where I can set up wireless network up with a password so outsiders can't access it.

Second, Zaneyard mentioned a program that could help me check my RAM if I ran it all day and that would be really helpful for both my computers. As I think both computers may have some RAM issues so I'd love to be able to check that.
http://www.memtest.org/download/4.00/mem...+-4.00.zip

unzip, burn iso to a disk

i would recommend installing just the driver for the wireless card and using the windows wireless configuration utility, i can walk you through that if you like.

Do not use the software that Linksys gave you, it will only end in tears.
Try a 'generic' tutorial like: http://compnetworking.about.com/cs/wirel...ldwlan.htm

In addition to Memtest, if your computer is 'custom built', make sure your ram voltage and timings are set correctly. To do this, you first need to know the brand and part number of your ram. You can do this without opening your pc by using CPU-Z (http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php) and looking at the 'SPD' tab. Then go to the manufacturer's web-page, look up the correct white paper and setting your BIOS to their suggested settings.

I dunno if you have an answer to this but AMD has some weird issue with RAM voltages and the end result is if I set my RAM to its proper voltage it makes my computer really unstable so I have to leave it on auto which I think underpowers it by .1 but at least my computer works fine.
