Seriously bringing the worst parts of console gaming to the PC. I haven't been able to play Batman yet because its like you need to sign in, you need to update, etc. Im now working on linking my gamertag so it will let me play the damn game.
Did you buy it through steam?
That's odd.  Setting up Arkham Asylum took me about 30 seconds.  And it's really good too.
I have the Batman's for 360 (first game I've finished the story on Big Grin) and it is indeed excellent.
GFWL sucks
have tons of problems getting friends together in one party on GTA IV

yeah just trying to play SF4 with LAG was incredibly difficult
I'm not really getting why everyone hates it. I've never had any problems with it. With Fallout 3, Batman or even online games like dirt2 and gta4, It's always been straight-forward for me. Online's been reletively lag-free and easy to set up. Not that I'd want more games to use gfwl, but I won't avoid a game just because it uses it.
one person would join a game and another person would get kicked because of it
they couldn't rejoin because it said "cannot join a game you have been kicked from"

can't do hamachi for a lan game cause all game traffic is routed through GFWL
Yeah, I hate GFWL. The market is terrible, the interface is really laggy, and it USES THAT RETARDED POINTS SYSTEM THAT I HATEFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF.
My problem is that it turns your PC into a 360. It's not a console it's a computer. A pop up says you may not be able to save if you don't sign in, that's just bullshit.

BTW my problem was I had a live account other than my gamer profile so I couldn't figure out why I couldn't access my gamer profile and then I couldn't figure out why I couldnt link it.
You should of bought it for PS3 because Joker.

console exclusive stuff is dumb anyway, joker wasn't that great to play as either

[/quote]I'd have to agree with this. The joker content was pretty lightweight for it's "exclusivity".

That's the point.  If it was actually signifigant then it would be a real "big deal".
the only real amazing console exclusive stuff imo is the gta4 add-ons (much much better than the full game)
I've personally had very little issue with GFWL after I figured out what I was doing wrong. I'm going to go with most things that happens with Windows. They don't explain things well enough and people often commit user error while stumbling around. It's not the system's fault if you don't do a little research and read things properly.

Though I still don't understand why some people have problems on things I just kind of breezed through. Red Faction Guerilla the biggest example I find.

To me the biggest issue is they force your hand on using it with games like Batman. I have no need of it, it's a useless service. It is in the way of me enjoying the game I bought. It's true I committed user error but I don't want to take the time to figure out the problem, I don't want to use GFWL I want to play the game.

Although I cannot confirm that it wouldn't let me save if I had said eff you I'm not signing in or using you but it made the warning which is enough of an intrusion to piss me off about it. I think it made me mad because it was leveraging other people's quality content to whore out a service most PC gamers would be against or at least indifferent towards.
When I got my first GFWL game I signed in with my xbl gamertag and nothing went wrong at all.

This is exactly how i feel, all the tiny things that windows live can do, steam can do only 10x easier.

Like send a message in game to a friend. Seriously, microsoft can't incorporate some form of instant messaging rather than the email-esk system?

Again, I don't have an reeeal problem with GFWL, but they really failed at making something that already exists. They just assumed that because they have "the best network" consoles, that it'll easily transfer right over to the PC side. Only thing about I prefer GFLW over steam is that "unlocked achievement" sound and how easy it is to view them (I like them, shuddup >.>) but other than that they really dropped lost the ball completely here. They're trying to compete with an already amazing service that's been in place for many years already.

Yeah, they just need to stop with the whole thing. It's not gunna work, steam's much easier. They don't even have a full manager, and their update service sucks. You have to go start the game, wait for it to launch, only to find there's an update, so you have to wait and download this (which takes waay too long for some reason) and you can't do ANYTHING else while patch is downloading, then you're kicked out of game to manually "install" the update... then you have to relaunch it..

You know what, screw what I said before about it... GFWL can just go die. >Sad
