That's mostly true. In reality, it depends on a number of factors in how the PSU's electronics are structured. I should shut up before I start to look like I'm out-nerding everyone else :x
It should be a stepping PSU. That said, you'd still be surprised what it pulls

That said, I plugged six servers today into a 'smart pdu'. I was pulling 500 VA with the servers off!
OCZ 850watt PSU is on sale today for $60 after all promos and rebates. Let me know if anyone needs the promo code it was e-mailed to me. I was tempted but I think I'm going to go away from SLI and check out these new 400 series cards Nvidia is releasing next month.

Ooooooooooh, I might be able to use that today.

Edit: and then I figured out that I'm horribly out of date.

You got 18 hours before the sale is over.
Update: My dad told me that'd he'd just double the funds I have by the end of the semester, which totaled would be about 502 dollars. Think I'll get the case, the processor, the mobo, and the RAM with that money and just Salvage over anything else until I get money for the less necessary parts.
Sorry if I missed something in the 5 pages of shit I'm tl;dr, but you're keeping the 9800GT but getting a 260 GTX? what
Card I wanted recently went out of production, so I've decided just to go with the best semi-affordable graphics card I could find (that wasn't radeon): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...-_-Product

Should 800 watts be enough to power that and an i5 2.66ghz quad-core?

I also want the Lilliput monitor: http://www.thinkgeek.com/computing/usb-gadgets/c609/ Looks like it'd be useful for spreadsheeting.

EDIT: No, I don't think the fridge actually cools anything Sad wishful thinking.

Quote:But what happens when you just want one can at your desk and you want it cold? Well, plug in this small single-can beverage cooler into a USB port and chill a can on your desk. Then you won't have to get up to get your drink.

Did you even read the description  :-*

Also for $100 that monitor looks really cool

[/quote]I think what tripped him up was in the paragraph after that:
Quote:The LED helps your drink stay cool by tricking it to think the air inside the cooler is from the Arctic, because everyone knows that blue lights make you feel cold.
Ambivalent description is ambivalent.
Adding Windows 7 Home Premium to the list. Opinions on the version?

Also, I'm going to be buying this monster in bundles. Refer to first post to see what I'm talking about.
Wait, are you recycling your old 9800GT or getting a new video card? tl;dr for 5 pages, and you aren't 'available' on steam.
I'm getting a new video card because I'm building an entirely new rig.
Actually SLI has gotten a lot better lately, you're getting ~50% of the second cards power now.

refer to the previous pages regarding sli.

Also I can't afford more than one card. :<
Could I get some info on the difference between these versions of Windows 7?
