And here be the official Playstation 3 motion controller.  And man is it ugly.  I may not like the Wii much, but at least it looks nice.  The big colored ball on it is just silly. I'm sure it's so that it's easier to register since it works with the Playstation Eye, but why is it some enormous bulbous light? It couldn't just be a small and form fitting square light fitted to the body of the wand?

I can't see it being less gimmicky than the Wii controller, especially with it being announced for Socom 4 and how awkward it is to play shooters on the Wii (Call of Duty 3 and Resident Evil 4 were not fun to play).  I'm apprehensive about it, but it'll be interesting to see how they'll utilize to try and push themselves out of the shadow of the Wii.
hahaahahaa oh my god how do you make the wiimote WORSE holy shit
I really don't understand the need for all this motion crap anyways. Most of the good wii games don't even use the motion sensors. I doubt I'll be buying this, and I predict a lack of sales similar to what I predict for Natal.
I believe that thing is ball shaped so that the camera can very easily determine how far away the controller is based on the size of the ball which wouldn't change depending on what angle it is viewed at. At least, that's what I'd think be the reasoning.

Pretty much this, while the motion thing has worked for a few games, I find it pretty hilarious that both Sony and MS spent money developing these systems.
guys, you're forgetting the market TITANS that are wii sports and wii sports resort. they're merely emulating the 2 greatest games of all time
Of the actual good games, such as Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, it did not benefit the game to me to have to swing the wiimote like a sword or use it to aim with.  I actually found it to have less precision than a controller would.  I can't say I've tried Wii Motion Plus, but I think there's inherent precision issue with a motion system like the Wiimote or Move, which relies on how much you want to hold your arms up in the air.

It's a novelty that wears off quickly I found out after I stopped playing the Wii for months and then sold it...though that was also cause of the lack of good games lol
Great, now crap games that filled the Wii will start appearing on the PS3.  Just what the console needs lol
looks like a good vibrator i guess

The only thing I ever liked about the wiimote was the pointer for stuff like Elebits and Silent Hill. Motion controls made Twilight Princess pretty lame Sad
