Ok, so most of you have probably seen me pimping Earth's Special Forces, the mod I work on.  For those who don't know, ESF is a Dragonball Z based mod for Half Life, and is probably the most advanced Half Life mod ever created.  For example, we've built in physics using the bullet engine, we're running shader model 3.0, we've built in a ton of particle effects, ambient occlusion, and a lot of other shit that I can't even remember at the moment.  But what is ESF as a game?

Each character is given signature moves and abilities to compliment different style of play. Some are stronger in hand to hand combat, others are better with energy attacks. Play in three different game modes, deathmatch, team deathmatch, and capture the dragonballs. There is a learning curve so newbies beware. This is not your normal Half-life mod.

Now to the point - we're hiring.  We want to speed up the development process.  To do that, we need more hands.  I'm coming to you guys because I know this comm, I know some ppl have done various work on mods in the past, and frankly, you're good people Smile  Don't let the fact that it's based on DBZ throw you.  The dev team is a group of professional individuals (ppl keep applying thinking that we're actually a for profit company and expecting to get paid) who are dedicated to the work we do.  We want to see this come together and become really popular once again.  Here's what we're looking at:

Environment Artist - Essentially, mapping
Character Artist - Modeling
Sound Developer - Creating and editing sounds from source footage
2D and GUI Artists - HUD, Menu, Particles, etc
Web Design/Content Manager - C'mon HeK, me love you long time? ;P

Like I said, we're a good group of ppl looking to make something really neat.  We're willing to provide additional training as needed to get skills up to par and to educate people in the specifics of our techniques.  Additionally, Grega, myself, and the rest of the BT team will help anyone get up to speed on how ESF works as a game. 

Still not convinced?  If you're looking to get into the game industry as a career, this would also be good as part of a portfolio.  It would show your work as actually being part of a coherent and functional game, as well as demonstrating your ability to work in a cooperative team environment.  If anyone has any questions, I'm more than willing to answer anything about ESF.  If you're interested in applying but want to see more, I would also be more than willing to provide any amount of media, information, or connect you with any member of the dev team (Mastasurf, the team lead would probably best in any case).
