steam wasnt connecting to the internet so i reinstalled, now im getting this error

Steam.exe (main exception): To run Steam, you must first connect to the Internet

help pls
disable your firewall something similar recently happened to me and that fixed it
You used the idle batch file, didn't you?

it has a habit of fucking your ClientRegistry.blob file in /Steam


Delete that file while steam isn't running, will be fixed.
TF2 started crashing on startup tonight out of the blue. It'll get midway through loading a map then bam, not responding.

nope

ill try disabling my firewall, my internet went out for a day so i couldnt fix it
fixed everything, now i just need to get my games back. i made backups before i uninstallled and now i dont know how to get them back without downloading, halp

like made backups via steam? it probably deleted the backups when you uninstalled.

unless you copied your entire account folder.
i copied the actual game folders themselves, but i figured it out. i had to start downloading then put the folders into steamapps so i got the content file
