If you play BC2 with us, you know probably know two things:

1. Pro tubes are Pro
2. Diglett needs a mic.

Let’s find Diglett a cheap mic so he can not fail. I’d be more than happy to chip in for it. I use a $12 Logitech headset from Wal Mart that I bought almost 4 years ago (lololol). Link cheap mics below gogogogo

I think I have one of those I step on occasionally.

Professor Funbucks

THPS4 came out on pc? i definitely have to dl it now
when i finally play bc2, don't get me a mic

#1: i'll never use it
#2: it's more fun to type "FUCK" rather than yelling it so it echoes in the house
Diglett needs a better wpm
Go to Walmart. Buy something $5. Replace when it breaks.

I am fond of the $12 Logitech headsets, but that's just me and I don't like announcing to others when my phone rings.

It’s always going to something man. It’s always whatever you aren’t playing. You play assault, suddenly Recons being able to one-shot you with a red dot scope are way over-powered (mag ammo ftw). You switch to recon, and you realize how unfair it is that you can stand on top of a health pack, shooting a stupid-accurate M60 like a turret that won’t die.

Don’t even get me started on Engies stomping with CG.

Here is how tubing stacks up:

1. Close range: Not as good as the shotgun or knife. The reload time is brutal if you miss, and you can alert others to your presence with the blast radius.
2. Mid Range: Decent. You can survive a one-on-one with a non-tubing assault as you can do more damage faster (plus most players will stand still to fire)
3. Long Range: Brutal. To get a tube on a long-range target takes a ton of practice, much less if they are running. Against any decent recon you are going to get destroyed.

The problem is, in MW2, they are stupid at every range because the maps are so small. You can’t hide. Even without danger close, they one-shot at nearly every range. The “hitbox” for an up-close kill is much bigger in MW2 as well.

But the mantra of “noob toob” carried over into a totally different game, and it stuck. As somebody who has hundreds of kills in both games with a toob, I can safety say being a toober in BC2 is much harder, and that there are many, many weapons far worse then toobs in the game (the M60 comes to mind). Versus nearly always dominates my assault as Recon because he is a decent sniper.
just use the shotgun, so much better and keeps people from raging

noob tube is MUCH much older than MW2 or BC2.

and the argument "It’s always going to something man" is a pretty crappy cop-out. Your assessment on how effective tubing can be is based purely on what a complete moron tuber would do. You assume that as long as the tuber misses his first shot, you can out-damage him, but what's to say that he won't just take cover and reload? Not a lot you can do there. There's dozens of other scenarios where a semi-intelligent tuber can game the territory to his advantage (remember they don't even need LOS to kill you, about the best you can do is a rocket or grenade)

Either way, the point I'm trying to make is that in my opinion, there's some balancing that needs to be done. It's not like DiCE wants the game to be as realistic as possible: vehicles are *MUCH* easier to deal with and take out than in previous BF iterations. They've even gone so far as to market their game as an alternative to the "other" crappy warfare games that are out there right now, with actual support in the form of dedicated servers and the like.

Now given that part of how they marketed the game was a more-balanced and satisfying experience, I don't find it that unreasonable to expect them to re-balance and tweak some of the weapons in-game so that 1) dying to a hot carl or a noob tube doesn't feel so damn cheap and dirty, and 2) we see less of the Carl/Tube spam, and actually get the varied gameplay experience that was specifically part of some of DiCE's own marketing

Personally I think if they just dropped rockets to 3/6 and rifle grenades to 1/2, and removed the ability to replenish explosive ammunition (or at least made it a much slower process, at *least* double the current time it takes to reload), there would be much fewer cheap deaths and subsequent rage
we proved how OP hot carls are last night with zane and versus carling everyone and me throwing them ammo / tubing. james had like 50 kills in 1 round and now has 5 hot carl gold stars
cg is gay as shit, noob tube is just as bad but it requires a weird skillset that i dont have Sad
