So I recently tried to overclock my cpu (C2D e6750 @2.66) and got it to 3.0ghz. I verified this as I looked at cpu-z but something strange happened. The core multiplier suddenly changed from 8 to 6, then back to 8. Now it's been stuck back at 6. In the BIOS it's set to be 8. Anyone know why this is happening? I apologize in advance for my lack of experience when it comes to this type of thing Tongue

It's cool I fixed it. Apparently my mother board had some protection to limit power consumption.
