You can apply there.

Yep, about a week and a half in by this point. But I'll try to avoid being a "ur late" bastard by adding info. Big Grin

Seems this was really just meant for the press and whatnot. There wasn't any official post about this, instead just sent to specific people or something. Though, there's nothing stopping you from signing up. I'm still waiting on my invite though. I think I heard it woulda been about ten days after it went out. Taking valve time into effect (and considering they said the mac client would be released this month) I'd say within a few days we'd be getting invites.

Course, by "we", I pretty much just refer to say... what... the three of us?
hey....

Check out the amazing collection of games I can play on here! :O

-.-
While this is not loading for me, I assume the entirety of that list is the little puzzle game with the apple logo, since Blizzard doesnt have its shit on Steam  Tongue
there's some screenies of the linux version floating around the internet as well, will try to find later
ugh... just tried portal on that thing. It runs muuuch much worse than just using boot camp. I mean, it didn't seem to actually render at a native res yet I was getting a worse frame rate. I dunno why TF2 wasn't showing up though, until they seriously do some optimization, I'd rather just reboot that thing in windows mode.

Oh, apparently TF2's not even released for mac yet.

uh... yeah...
I played Braid on a MacBook because my computer is durped. By the way, if any of you know what could cause random computer freezing, let's talk.

describe your freezing
intermitent ? occasional ? goes away after a bit ? locks the system up ?

my first thought was fucked registry. seems a little early for diagnosis though.

Completely random. Requires full computer restart. Can occur any time from when Windows is loading to after running a game benchmark. There does not seem to be any root cause of this. I have decided it is a hardware issue because after the third day I did a full format and reinstall. I know it isn't the videocard because I swapped my 5870 with an 8800GT and got the same issues, I know it isn't RAM unless Memtest is lying to me... So how do I go about diagnosing the harddrive, mobo, processor, and possibly power supply?

Edit: And I cleaned the inside of the system and made sure everything was nice and secure. No dice.

Edit 2: And I played Toki Tori on the Mac. It loaded from exactly the same point as I was on my Windows PC. That's exactly how gaming should work.
Was about to play Steam on a Jawsome powermac when I found out that it won't run on OSX tiger.

Oh, and it doesn't have an intel chip.
This gave me a chuckle...

Those friggin' wireless mouses are expensive, but they rape so hard.

yeah a format usually resolves any software problems lol Tongue

lets start with the easiest stuff and work our way up.

im thinking BIOS update would be the most practical use of time, and may solve the problems , just guessing though.. if its something like a faulty transisitor doesnt matter how much we fuck around.

for your hdd , but i doubt it's that.
you can check event viewer in windows for disk or NTFS errors (red triangle , white !)

if it was processor you wouldnt get past POST.

PSU is more of chore to test but straight forward ..

That joke was funny the first time I saw it... now.. gah, I HATE macs and I'm getting sick of that joke. I mean, mac computers have had a right click since 5 bloody years ago. I'm honestly convinced there are still people who are absolutely sure they don't have a right click nor accept normal USB mice [Image: frustrated.GIF]

Got he newest BIOS for my mobo yesterday. No help. I have been looking at event viewer and really the only things it says is that the system shut down unexpectedly. No real information.
