Be Right Back, Uninstalling

Alright, I've about had it with my mic in TF2. It is apparently way too loud. Anyways, when I go into the voice dialog in options, everything is max. So I pull it down to a reasonable level, right? I also go and hit the Apply box. Problem solved, right? Nope. When I go back in to check if it saved, it's still all at max. Now, I do not know what the hell is going on with it, but I really hate not being able to use my mic. Any suggestions?

why use a mic when you can just use hlss with this?

Turn it down in the windows volume mixer.
